Special to Atmore News
Officials with Atmore Community Hospital (ACH) announce the name of the former ACH MedPlus Building has been changed to ACH Specialty Care, which will be home to visiting specialists and the hospital’s general surgeon.
“We are in the process of looking at area physicians who have an interest in holding a clinic in Atmore,” ACH administrator Brad Lowery said. “As of today, we have vascular care, general surgery, gynecology, nephrology and podiatry. We are in the process of recruiting a staff surgeon and have been looking for several visiting specialties including, ENT, urology, oncology, and dermatology.”
Officials said the new clinic will work in coordination with the hospital’s outpatient clinic to provide specialty services for the Atmore community. Patients who want to make an appointment will need to make that appointment directly with the visiting physician’s office.
“We look forward to building upon our already outstanding outpatient schedule,” Lowery said. “We want to provide as many services here locally so our community has access to a variety of specialty care here at home.”
In addition to the ACH Specialty Care physicians, the Outpatient Department hosts visiting specialists in gastroenterology, nephrology, orthopedics and VA screenings. There are also cardiology and pulmonology clinics held on the second floor in the Cardiopulmonary Department.
