Two state inmates, both convicted in Escambia County Circuit Court, were each denied parole recently during hearings by the Alabama Board of Pardons & Paroles.
Darrin Lamar Williams, 34, of Brewton has served less than one-fourth of the 20-year sentence he received after his 2018 conviction on drug distribution charges.
Williams, currently housed at Bullock Correctional Facility, is on his third tour of the state prison system.
Alabama Department of Corrections records show he served three years, three months and five days of a 10-year stretch after a 2007 conviction for drug possession and receiving stolen property. He also served almost every day of a 5-year sentence for a 2012 conviction on drug possession and distribution charges.
His minimum release date without parole or a pardon is October 15, 2032.
Parole was also denied for Joseph Ryan Seymour, a 30-year-old Georgia man who was convicted here in 2020 on charges on second-degree forgery and second-degree theft.
Seymour, who is currently housed at Mobile Work Release Center, has served just under two years of the 120-month (10 years) sentence he was given, but has accumulated 1,115 days (three years-plus) of “good time.” ADOC records show he could be released as early as July 21, 2023.
