Glenn Doyle McGhee Sr.
Mr. Glenn Doyle McGhee Sr., age 78, passed away, Monday, February 7, 2022 in Pensacola, Fla. He has resided most of his life in Pensacola. He was a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and retired there with many years of employment with IT department. He served in the United States Army with over twenty years of service. He enjoyed listening to country music and Florida State University Football. He liked to make people happy and laugh a lot. He enjoyed working logic puzzles, both teaching and solving himself.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Atrebee Dees McGhee; one brother, Stephen McGhee.
Mr. McGhee is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Billie Jo McGhee of Pensacola; three sons, Glenn Doyle Jr. and Ronald Gilbert McGhee, both of Pensacola, Kenneth Carl McGhee, of Orlando, Fla.; three daughters, Pamela Lynn McGhee and Elizabeth Joan McGhee, both of Tallahassee, Fla. and Deborah Diane Breiner; five brothers, Gilbert (Mary) McGhee, of Walnut Hill, Fla., Carl Jr McGhee, Harold (Lynna) McGhee and Larry McGhee, all of Atmore, Robert McGhee, of Saraland, Ala.; one sister, Sandra (Lareue) Chunn, of Theodore, Ala.; three grandchildren, Benedict Breiner, Bella Breiner, Bianca Breiner, other relatives, and friends.
Burial will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 11 a. m. at Barrancas National Cemetery with Rev. Rowdy Boyette officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 14, 2022 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.

Milton Monroe McPherson, Jr.
Mr. Milton Monroe McPherson, Jr., age 65, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville, Ala. He was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala., was a former resident of Austin, Texas and was a resident of Atmore, Ala. since 2010. He was employed as an operator for a Waste Water Treatment Plant and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Preceded in death by his parents, Milton Monroe McPherson, Sr. and Carolyn Elizabeth Coley McPherson.
Mr. McPherson is survived by a brother, Herbert McPherson of Monroe County and a sister, Gretchen Michelle McPherson of Uriah, Ala.

Annie L. Guy
Mrs. Annie L. Guy, age 87, of Robinsonville, Ala., passed away Friday, February 11, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Vocation, Ala. She was a member of Canoe Church and worked at Vanity Fair for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert C. Guy and one brother, Ray Lambert.
Mrs. Guy is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Freddy) Lambeth; three sons, Danny (Brenda) Guy, Thomas (Melanie) Guy, Richard (Kristy) Guy, all of Robinsonville, and one sister, Maggie (Buddy) Godwin of Vocation; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Canoe Church Cemetery in Robinsonville with Bro. William Armstrong officiating.

Orval A. Peters
Mr. Orval A. Peters, age 94, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022. He was born in Gratiot County Mich. to Cary and Flossie Allman Peters. After marrying, Michigan, Florida and Mississippi were locations they called home. A special time of service was spent in missions at Albuquerque, N.M. and then he relocated to Florida. He was skilled in building; the tools of the carpentry trade were familiar in his hand. He also loved gardening, sharing excess produce with family and friends. Praying was important and meaningful to him; being a prayer warrior gave a sense of purpose to his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Leona; two brothers; one sister; one brother-in-law; one son and one daughter, and two grandsons.
Mr. Peters is survived by his son, Ken of Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Sandra and Melvin Iutzi of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Karen and Larry Smith of Surprise Ariz.; one brother Bill, and three sisters, Edna, Helen, and Donna and Kurt Fellows, all of Ithaca, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Vada Peters of Murray, Ky. and Ellyn Peters of Ithaca; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Southern Harbor Mennonite Church and officiated by Galen Harms, Cameron Boeckner, and Wesley Wenger. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Marlin Iutzi, Terrill Iutzi, Adam Peters, Alex Peters, Clifton Smith, Reuben Smith and Jayden Iutzi.

Rev. Dr. Douglas Newton, age 85, of Niceville, Fla., passed away December 28, 2021.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Crosspoint United Methodist Church in Niceville.

L.B. Flanigan
Mr. L.B. Flanigan, age, 81, an Okie recently of Wake Forest, N.C., passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, surrounded by his wife and three children. He was born in Stringtown, Okla. but grew up in Oakland Calif. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University and began his ministry in Southern Baptist churches. He graduated from Central State and from Southwestern Baptist Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a lifetime minister of the Gospel and pastor for thirty-seven years, He became the administrator for the Oklahoma Baptist Retirement Village in Cleveland, Okla. until his retirement in 2006. He had recently moved to Wake Forest to be close to his daughter’s family.
Mr. Flanigan is survived by his wife, Marie; his three children, Shannon Flanigan, Shawna O’Briant, and Shelly Ham, and their spouses, Tiffany Flanigan, Lee O’Briant, and Drew Ham; eleven grandchildren, Rachel, Caleb, Emily, Sterling, Lindsay, Luke, Sean, Elizabeth, Jacob, Laura Kate, and Abigail.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baptist Retirement Villages of Oklahoma, The Gideons’ Bible ministry, Baptist Children’s Home of Oklahoma, Samaritan’s Purse, and First Baptist Church of Purcell.

Betty L. White
Mrs. Betty L. White, age 82, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 in Atmore, Ala. She was born in Century, Fla. and has resided most of her life in Atmore. She retired from the Escambia County Board of Education, as a lunchroom manager at A.C. Moore Elementary School with many years of employment. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and shooting in bow tournaments. She would sit in the floor and play with her grandchildren and she enjoyed watching them play.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Susie Nelson Little; one brother, Thomas Little, and one sister-in-law, Joyce Little.
Mrs. White is survived by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Lamar White, of Atmore; two sons, Tim (Sonja) White and Steve (Holley) White, all of Atmore; four grandchildren, Lucas (Bri) White, Gage (Marisa) White, Kelly Cravens (Aaron Norton); four great-grandchildren, LaKilyn, Hunter, Lane, Cody; special care givers, Elaine Day, Sherry Colbert; numerous nieces, nephew’s other relatives, and friends.
