Atmore Christian School continues the search for its first state championship after posting a 59-50 win over South Baldwin in the first round of the Panhandle Christian Conference playoffs last Thursday, February 4.
Caeden Battles hit for 21 points to lead the Rams in scoring. Gage Gades added 13, Emmett Battles contributed 11, Reese White and Titus Dean added six each, and Dexter Smoker scored two points.
“We have had a great season, and the guys have continued to fight,” ACS head coach Tim Battles said. “We have to do well this week to have a chance to keep moving on for a chance to win everything.”
With the win, ACS advances and will face either South Baldwin again, or Alethia, at home this Thursday, February 11.
Battles said if ACS wins that game, the Rams will advance to play this Friday, February 12. If they were to make it that far, and were to win that contest, they would play for the championship this Saturday, February 13.
