Sharon Marie Bryant Brown

Ms. Sharon Marie Bryant Brown, age 61, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in Atmore. She was born to the late Wiley Houston and Mary Marie Hadley Byrd. She was the owner of State Line Pawn Shop and was a member of Cross Point Church in Atmore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Lynn Bryant; husband, Ronnie Kent Brown and a brother; Steven Houston Byrd.

Ms. Brown is survived by her daughter, Marylnn Marie Bryant of Montgomery, Ala.; sister; Teresa Byrd (Ben) Martin of Perdido, Ala.; aunt; Sue Stafford; special friend, Lucille Edwards and numerous family and friends.

Graveside services were held Friday, May 8, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Guy Heath officiating.

Tucson E. Amerson     

Amerson

Mr. Tucson E. Amerson, age 80, of Bratt, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 in Bratt. He was born in Bratt to Floyd Armstrong and Inez Amerson. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in United States Navy for over thirteen and one half years. He retired from the Bag Plant at St. Regis, Champion, International Paper Company with over twenty-seven and one half years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Linda Amerson.

Mr. Amerson is survived by his three daughters, Adrianna (Barry) Sager and Tammy Amerson, all of Bratt and Michelle (Allen) Driskell of Byrneville, Fla.; his fiancée, Tonya Lambert; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bratt-Godwin Cemetery with Bro. Dillon Parham officiating.

Mose “Buddy” Burkett

Mr. Mose “Buddy” Burkett, age 86, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 in Jay, Fla. He was a native of Moyeville, Ala., former resident of the Flomaton, Ala./Century, Fla. area and had resided in Jay, Fla. for the past forty-four years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Navy. He was a retired maintenance worker with Monsanto Corp with thirty-six years of service and a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall of Brewton, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Ruby Jo Burkett; wife and mother of his children, Birdie Ann Burkett and Helen Burkett; three sons, Tommy Adkins, Jerry Adkins and Randy Burkett; two daughters, Victoria Pierre and Joann Ridderbjelke; two sisters, Susie Mae Penton and Rochelle Macks Bankston and four brothers, Shep Burkett, Charles W. Burkett, Joe Burkett and Dempsey Burkett.
Mr. Burkett is survived by his son, Rodney (Dana) Burkett of Century; two brothers, Robert Burkett of Flomaton and Arthur Burkett of Panama City, Fla.; six sisters, Frances (Ed) Hayles of Atmore, Ala., Reaatha Emmons of Pineview, Ala., Edwina “Red” (Alton) Calloway of Flomaton, Essie Amodeo and Mary Daniels, both of Milton, Fla. and Natasha Burkett; twelve grandchildren, Michele Adkins, Becky Adkins, Jennifer Adkins, Maegan Barras, Shannon Elizabeth Lirette, Lisa Ann Fitzpatrick, Brigitte Marie (Brandon) Ward, Wesley Michael Pierre, Heath Warren Burkett, Marinda Burkett, Mazie Burkett and Jessie Ridderbjelke; nineteen great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Moyeville Cemetery with Bro. Richard Ash officiating.
The family received friends Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 9 until 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Charlie Brown, Luke Brown, Logan Brown, Tom Harrington, Charles Cash and Richard Ash.

Brenda Cooper

Mrs. Brenda Cooper, age 68, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 in Fairhope, Ala. She was a native of Atmore, Ala., former resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. and had resided in Bay Minette, Ala for the past thirty years. She was a retired Junior Food Store Supervisor with twenty-five years of service. She was a member of the Fretwell Tabernacle Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Genell Hall; sister, Betty Sue Flowers and brother, Robert Clayton Hall.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Clyde F. “Pete” Cooper of Bay Minette; three sons, Robbie (Rebecca) Hall of Navarre, Fla., Chris (Melissa) Cooper of Loxley, Ala. and Charlie Cooper of Bay Minette; one sister, Sue Cooper of Atmore; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 11, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Johnson Cemetery in Whitehouse Fork, Ala. with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.
Pallbearers were Terrance Newsome, Ben Ryals, Hank Paul, Malcolm Harrrelson, Pete Weaver and Lee Williams.

Nancy Noble Chapman

Mrs. Nancy Noble Chapman, age 89, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 in Fairhope, Ala. She was born in Clark County, Ala. She was co-owner and manager of Chapman Ace Hardware, Inc. for thirty years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, PCA, Atmore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Will Stewart “Bill” Chapman, Jr; siblings, Shirley Lowder; Chet Noble and Marilyn Jensen.

Mrs. Chapman is survived by her children, Will (Janice) Chapman and Bess Chapman (Richard) Maxwell, all of Atmore; Gretchen Chapman (Steve) Odham of Pensacola, Fla. and Rebecca Chapman (James) Williamson of Bay Minette, Ala.; two brothers, Frank (Debbie) Noble of Pasadena, Calif. and Wesley “Buddy” (Charlene) Noble of Jackson, Ala.; one sister, Margie Reid of Leroy, Ala.; grandchildren, Will Stewart (Maya) Chapman, III, Mary Frances Chapman (Doug) Anderson, Mallory Maxwell Downey, Chapman Richard (Katie) Maxwell, Hannah Stephens, Bess Tyler, Jamie Williamson (Jack) Hazelrig, Ann Williamson (Kory) Doyle; thirteen great-grandchildren; many other family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with Reverend Jim Thorpe officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Stewart Chapman, Chapman Maxwell, Harris Downey, Kory Doyle, Bryan Shebeck, Patrick Prestarri and Jack Hazelrig.

Patricia Wiggins

Patricia Wiggins of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in Mobile Infirmary Hospital, Mobile, Ala.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Eula Mae Davis

Mrs. Eula Mae Davis, age 71, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020. She was born in McCullough, Ala. to the late Henry and Willie Mae McNeal, Sr. she was a 1967 graduate of Escambia County Training School excelling in Home Economics and Child Care Guidance. She relocated to Detroit, Mich. and began a 15 year career at Children’s Aide Society and opened an In-Home Day Care for 10 years. In Detroit she was a member of New Order Baptist Church where her brother, Henry McNeal, Jr. was pastor. She served as a dedicated member of the Pastor’s Aide for 20 years. After retiring and moving back to her hometown, she joined McCullough Christian Center.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Jack Davis; daughters, Eunice (Robert) Hood and Tarnisha (George) Canady; granddaughter, Lyric Hood; bonus children, Jack (Ava) Davis, Jr., Janeice Johnson and Nicole (Tresvan) O’Neal a host of bonus grandchildren and great-grands; siblings, the late Charles (Margaret) Harris, Eunice Wilson, Pastor Henry (Elaine) McNeal, Moses McNeal, Alice (Robert) Gary, Floristean (Jerry) McMillan, Lillie (Andre) Sweeting, Don (Rhonda) McNeal, Carol (Carnell) Otis and Glen McNeal; a plethora of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 8, 2020 at 11 a.m. at McCullough Christian Center

with Pastor Cornelius Phillips officiating. Interment followed at Alabama State Veterans Cemetery, Spanish Fort, Ala.

Public viewing was held May 8, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.

Pallbearers and floral attendants were family and friends.
