Allen Patterson put up 18 points during Escambia County High’s 64-49 loss to Baldwin County last Friday, January 31, and Sheldon Williams scored 17 to lead the Blue Devils to a 50-40 victory over Vigor High School last Thursday.
The Blue Devils finished out the regular season with a record of 12-14.
Other players who registered points during last week’s contest against Baldwin County were Williams (12), Hakeem Johnson (9), Trevon Lambert (6), Jalen Barnes and Jacobey James (2 each).
Williams was joined by Lambert in double-digit scoring during the win over Vigor.
Williams scored 17, and Lambert hit for 11 points. Johnson added 6, Patterson chipped in 5, Barnes got 4, Reginald Terrick hit for 3, and Jamarious Lewis and James scored two points each.
The Blue Devils will travel to UMS-Wright to face Williamson High on Wednesday, February 5, at 7 p.m. during the semi-finals of the Class 4A Region 1 Basketball Tournament.
The winner of Wednesday’s game will face UMS-Wright or W.S. Neal in the region championship finals this Friday, February 7, at 7 p.m.
The Lady Blue Devils were slated to face off against UMS-Wright in the region semi-final at UMS-Wright on Tuesday, February 4.
Due to publication deadlines, that game will be featured in next week’s edition of Atmore News.
Winner of that game will advance to meet W.S. Neal or Williamson for the region championship on Friday, February 7 at 5:30 p.m.
