A live performance by reigning American Idol winner Jamal Roberts will highlight the free Bee More Summer Festival, set for Saturday, June 14, at Boxcar Willie Park.
Roberts, from Meridian, Miss., is fresh off his victory in the singing competition. He will bring his soulful and powerful vocals to the festival, capping off a day that will include live music, local food vendors, artisan crafts and family-friendly activities.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jamal Roberts to our city,” said Interim Atmore Mayor Shawn Lassiter. “This is a fantastic opportunity for our community and folks visiting Atmore to come together and enjoy world-class entertainment right here at Boxcar Willie. His performance will undoubtedly be a highlight of the day.”
The festival will begin at noon and will feature music, line dancing, a foam machine, a mechanical bull, face painting, Caricatures by Kathy, food trucks, and more. Roberts is scheduled to perform at 4 p.m.
“Boxcar Willie has a history of hosting amazing talent, and we’re thrilled to continue that tradition, especially after American Idol runner-up Will Moseley’s performance here last summer,” said Main Street Atmore Executive Director Shinora Redmond. “This year’s festival is going to be truly special.
