At the December 12 meeting of the Escambia County Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. Michele Collier, Assistant Superintendent George Brown, principals and the board recognized Teachers of the Year. Local teachers recognized were A.C. Moore Primary School – Rachel Hadley Huxford Elementary School – Latoshia Woods Rachel Patterson Elementary School – April George Escambia County Middle School – Sarah Chavers (who could not be at the presentation) Escambia County High School – Stephanie Buitron Top teachers for the schools outside the Atmore area were Kimberly Hester – Flomaton Elementary; Jacqi Hammond, Flomaton High; Traci Ward, Pollard McCall, K-5; Tyler Parker, Pollard McCall, 6-8; Robin Brown, Career Readiness Center; Desi Lee, W.S. Neal High; Tiffany Hammac, W.S. Neal Elementary; Bailey Johnson, W.S. Neal Middle.
