Edward Adams, Sr.
DeaconEdward Adams, Sr., age 88, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 at West Florida Hospital, Pensacola, Fla. He was born in Wainwright, Ala. to the late Ree and Lucille Adams. He was a member of Mt. Gillead Missionary Baptist Church serving as chairman of the Deacon Board, former chairman of the Trustee Board, founding member of the Mt. Gillead Male Chorus as President, and a Sunday school scholar. He was employed at Monsanto Chemical Plant for more than thirty-two years. After retirement he started a vegetable garden, selling his produce at the Atmore Farmer’s Market, all the while teaching his grandson Alvin all things connected with gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe Louis, Jimmie, Jimmie Lee ad Gene Autry; sister, Helen; nephew, Claude Riley and niece, Linda Riley. Deacon Adams is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Bettye; one daughter, Angela (Martin) Green of Atlanta, Ga; three sons, Edward, Jr. (Loretta) of Pensacola, Fla., Reginald (Paula) Dexter, both of Atmore; twenty grandchildren, two devoted, (Alvin and Tara); thirteen great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles, Jessie (Linda) and Judge (Kate), all of Calif., Dennis (Glinnis) of Atlanta; three sisters-in-law, Eloise Adams and Barbara (Willie) dukes, both of Atmore, Elsworth Thomas of Newark, N.J.; devoted nephew ad niece, Stayzick (Marinic) Coleman and Daisy (Antonio) Clausell-Pillot; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Noon at Mt. Gillead Missionary Baptist Church with rev. Gregory Sanders, Pastor officiating. Interment followed at Perce Cemetery at Freemanville, Ala.
Pallbearers were Alvin Simmons, Dexter Adams, Jr., Justin Gomez, Chille Ford, Charles Adams, Aiden Ruffin, Pierre Smith and Nicholas Green.
Annie Ruth Bryan
Ms. Annie Ruth Bryan, age 85, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, December 16, 2024. She was born in Century, Fla. to John O’Bannon McCall and Cynthia Myrl Comalander McCall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Bobby McCall, Pauline Pickern, Helen Hughes and Gail Smith; her grandson, Rick Pearson.
Ms. Bryan is survived by her children, Cheryl (John) Vennell of Marianna, Fla., Elaine (Billy) Holk of Bratt, Fla., Kenny (Krista) Bryan of Murrayville, Ga. and Keith Bryan of Gainesville, Ga.; her brother, John (Maxine) McCall of Bratt; her sisters, Debbie Cribbs of Pensacola, Fla. and Nancy Sessions of Bratt; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Elmer Avon Fowler
Rev. Elmer Avon Fowler, age 89, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024. He was born in Jay, Fla. to Eli Manuel Fowler and Girlie Gertrude Nowling Fowler. He received a divine call of God at age of 14 and went on to receive his Ordination with the Assemblies of God.
He pastored six churches and assisted in many more – building or remodeling each one as he relied on his experience in the construction field.
Rev. Fowler served as Presbyter for the West Florida District Assemblies of God for many years. He ministered in the United States and in the mission field around the world. In 1976 he began going on World Missions trips and for a number of years, he served on the Builders International board of directors.
His global travels have carried him with his wife Debra by his side to 24 countries of the World, where he assisted with over 151 projects. One of the most memorable trips was assisting with the construction of a swinging walk-bridge in Papua New Guinea.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eddie Jean Fowler; his parents; brother, Alfred Fowler, E. Manuel Fowler, Jr. and Allen Fowler; and brother-in-law, Judge Devon Wiggins.
Rev. Fowler is survived by his wife, Debra Jean Fowler; brother, J. W. Fowler, sister-in-Law, Jane Fowler; brother, Amos Fowler; sister, Nell Fowler Wiggins; daughter, Robin (Ray) White; grandson, Christopher (Dana) White; great-grandson, Nico White; granddaughter, Cinthia White Fowler; daughter, Terri (Terry L.) Richardson; son, Eddie (Allison) Fowler; granddaughter, Lindsay (Matt) Ward; great-granddaughter, Braleigh; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Moses; great-grandchildren, Kyler Moses, Karson Moses, Kinley Jean Moses, Mollie Kait Cordell, Maddix Avon Cordell; grandson: Casey (Tori) Fowler; great- granddaughter, Dani Lynn Fowler; granddaughter, Sydney (Jordan) Stromberger, soon-to-be great-granddaughter; Amelia Rose Stromberger; “Special Adopted Daughter”, Bethany Moore, living in Turkey; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 4 p.m. at Pensacola First Assembly of God Church.

Terry Gill
Mr. Terry Gill, age 67, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in Perdido, Ala. He was a native of the Rabun and Perdido, Ala. area. He retired from the construction field with many years of service. A devoted believer, he lived his life in prayer and gratitude, always recognizing the blessings he received each day. He cherished the time spent with his family, often taking them on hunting and fishing trips where stories were shared and laughter echoed through the trees. He was often wandering through yard sales, excitedly hunting for hidden treasures. In addition to these interests, he was known for his remarkable skills as a carpenter, creating beautiful pieces that showcased his craftsmanship. His lively spirit and love for humor made him a joy to be around. Friends and family alike enjoyed his jokes and playful demeanor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie (Margutte Andrews) Gill; his wives, Gail Gill and Fern Gill, and one brother, Bryan Dewayne Gill.
Mr. Gill is survived by his two sons, Chris (Lisa) Gill, of Rabun, Ala. and Kevin Gill of Dyas, Ala,; one step-daughter, Crystal Smith of Bay Minette, Ala.; one brother, Houston (Linda) Gill of Rabun; three sisters, Jeanette (Earl) Bryars and Margarette Ann Stewart, both of Rabun and Joann Dewise of Monroeville, Ala.; five grandchildren, Levi Gill, Kolby Gill, Kenncade Gill Taylor Smith, Abagail Gill, other relatives and friends.
