GECA to present ‘An Enchanted Bookshop Christmas’

Special to Atmore News

The Greater Escambia Council for the Arts (GECA) is presenting “An Enchanted Bookshop Christmas,” over two weekends this month.
Directed by Sharon Poulsen, the play takes audiences to the charming used bookstore, A Likely Story, just days before Christmas. The story unfolds as Miss Margie, the bookshop’s owner, prepares for a special holiday visit from her family. But when a crucial bookmark with life-changing information goes missing, beloved literary characters – from Ebenezer Scrooge to the Nutcracker Prince – spring to life to save the day while keeping their magical existence a secret.
Show dates are December 5-8 and December 12-15, at the GECA Theater, corner of Trammell Street and Highway 31. Thursday through Saturday shows are at 7 p.m. Sunday shows are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 each and are available at www.gecarts.org.
Seating is limited, so get your tickets early.
