The following felony arrests were reported by Atmore Police Department officers ruing the period November 16-26:
Scott Foley
A Cantonment, Fla. man was arrested November 20 after a traffic stop led to the discovery of more than six dozen grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle.
According to police reports, the traffic stop occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Alabama Highway 21 when an officer noticed the vehicle was displaying a license plate that was registered to a different model of vehicle.
The reporting officer noted that the driver, 53-year-old Scott Foley, was acting suspiciously behavior and requested a K9 unit. The animal “alerted” on the vehicle, and a subsequent search turned up 72 grams of meth.
Foley, who was charged with one count of drug trafficking, remained in the Escambia County Detention Center (ECDC) Monday morning, December 2.
Robert Lowery
An Atmore man was arrested November 26 on felony drug possession charges after APD narcotics officers executed a search warrant at a house on Rockaway Creek Road.
The raid, which was carried out around 12:50 p.m., led to the discovery of “several grams” of methamphetamine, an unspecified quantity of Clonazepam, and items used to ingest narcotics. (Clonazepam is used to control certain seizures and to control panic attacks.)
Robert Lowery, 42, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is no longer listed on the ECDC inmate roster.
Chandler Lindsey
Victoria Lindsey
Two Mobile County sisters were arrested November 23 on felony drug possession charges, after police pulled over their vehicle “in reference to the driver, (Chandler Lindsey, 23) not possessing a valid driver’s license.”
Police reports did not divulge how the determination was made, but the vehicle was pulled over around 11:50 a.m. on Martin Luther King Drive. The reporting officer noted that, during his interaction with Chandler Lindsey, “her behavior was suspicious.”
The driver gave consent to a search of the vehicle, and police found “a small amount of synthetic cannabis (Spice) and items used to ingest narcotics.”
The Mobile woman and her passenger sister, 25-year-old Victoria Lindsey of Grand Bay, were both processed into the county jail on one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both women remained in the ECDC Monday morning, December 2.
Kennedy Crook
An Atmore man was arrested November 16 after police were sent to a Short Street residence in response to a domestic violence complaint.
Officers were dispatched to the site around 2:55 a.m. after a woman reported that she was struck in the face and choked by her boyfriend, 43-year-old Kennedy Crook.
The victim had visible injuries to her neck, and Crook was placed under arrest. He was booked into the ECDC on one count of domestic violence by strangulation or suffocation.
Crook was no longer listed on the jail site Monday morning, December 2.
David Boyd III
An Atmore man, picked up by police November 22 on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, was charged with felony drug possession after police found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue on his person as they were arresting him.
Reports show that officers located David Boyd III, 45, around 9:15 p.m. on West Nashville Avenue.
When officers searched Boyd before taking him to jail, they discovered the meth-stained pipe.
Boyd was processed into the county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was still in jail Monday morning, December 2.
Michael Duncan
Police arrested an Atmore man November 17 on a felony drug possession charge after a traffic stop led to the discovery that he was the subject of a Tennessee arrest warrant.
The pullover, which took place around 11:25 a.m. on Rockaway Creek Road, was conducted because the vehicle displayed an expired tag, according to police reports.
When police ran an identification check on the driver, 51-year-old Michael Duncan, they learned that the Atmore man was wanted in the Volunteer State on an outstanding felony warrant. Reports did not include what crime he is accused of committing there.
When they searched him in preparation for a trip to jail, they found a hypodermic needle with methamphetamine residue, and Duncan was charged locally with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was booked into the county jail to await extradition to Tennessee but was not listed on the inmate roster Monday morning, December 2. No mug shot was available.
Calvin Thrower
A 44-year-old Atmore man, a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over because its tag was expired, was arrested November 16 for intent to distribute methamphetamine after the smell of burnt marijuana greeted the policeman who made the traffic stop.
The vehicle was pulled over around 10:55 a.m. on Rockaway Creek Road.
The officer conducted a probable cause search that turned up more than a dozen grams of meth, a small amount of synthetic cannabis (Spice), a small amount of marijuana, and items used to ingest narcotics.
The driver, whose name was not released by local police, was wanted by two different agencies on arrest warrants and was detained for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
The passenger, Calvin Thrower, was charged with one count each of unlawful possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
