John Andrew “Andy” Cannon
Mr. John Andrew “Andy” Cannon, better known as “BIG ANDY”, age 57, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024. He was born to John H. and Janice Cannon in Columbus, Ga. After his father was killed in Vietnam, he and his mother moved back to Walnut Hill, Fla. As a “Jack of All Trades” he would take things apart to see how they worked, then put them back tighter. He was a very smart man. His love of music was his greatest passion. He was a freelance sound/recording engineer for most of his adult life. He loved racing and loved to tell the story about getting to race for a friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Cannon; mother and step-father, Janice and Eddie Parker; paternal grandparents, Andrew and Vassie Cannon; maternal grandparents, William and Aggidean Dagen; aunts, Billie Faye Smith, Gladys Dagen, Laverne Warren, Rita Bolton and hi at 3:00 PM on s uncle, Robert Dagen.
Mr. Cannon is survived by his daughter, Caren A. Cannon “Whinnie”; grandson, Francis L. Hurd; sister, Gwen Parker; nieces, Brittany Tutton, Kelsey (Neal) Phillips and Parker Tutton; uncle, Max Ray Smith; cousins, Kelly Smith, Max A. Smith, Brett Dagen, Bruce Dagen, Peb Dagen-Daw, Charlie Creel, Arron Dagen, Patty Peacock, Tina Bolton, Jennifer Bolton, Eddie Warren, Scott Warren, Susan Powell and many other cousins and dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Jay Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Jay City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 6, 2024 from 1 p.m. until service time.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Adkinson, Brett Dagen, Trent Ledbetter, John McCullough, Steve McCullough, and Jimmy Smith.

Jessie James Lambeth
Mr. Jessie James Lambeth, age 94, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a lifelong resident of Flomaton, Ala. where he attended Lambeth Holiness Church and Shady Grove Holiness Church. He helped re-establish and ministered the Allen Smith Holiness Church where he enjoyed attending most of his life. He owned and operated a trucking business for many years and served in the Korean War. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening. He enjoyed all the family get-togethers and telling some good stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest (Iver) Lambeth; wife, Mildred Lambeth; one son, Arnold Lambeth; seven brothers, Crumpton Lambeth, Marvin Lambeth, Burnace Lambeth, Preston Lambeth, Milard Lambeth, Bill Lambeth, Robert Lee “Bob” Lambeth, and one sister, Cody Wedgeworth.
Mr. Lambeth is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Spear Godfrey of Brewton, Ala.; one son, Phillip (Sandra) Lambeth of Flomaton; three daughters, Deborah Page of Foley, Ala., Pamela (Erbie) Pritchett of Century, Fla. and Tina Lambeth of Flomaton; one sister, Teresa Smith of Flomaton; eight grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) Whatley, Casey (Kelley) Wilcoxon, Crystal (Tony) Wiley, Paige Lambeth, Alex Lambeth, Newt Lambeth, Copeland Lambeth, Paisley Lambeth; eight great-grandchildren, Rivers Whatley, Ella Whatley, Makalyn Rowell, Blakelyn Wiley, Kali Wilcoxon, Kami Wilcoxon, Emory Smith, Weston Smith; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September11, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with Rev. Donnis Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Lambeth- Boutwell Cemetery.

Agnes Pauline Pickern
Mrs. Agnes Pauline Pickern, age 88, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, in Century, Fla. She was a native and lifelong resident of Bratt, Fla. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bratt where she served thirteen years as church secretary. She enjoyed her women’s Sunday school class and when she was able to teach the Sunday school group. She worked at Vanity Fair for many years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren. She loved when she was able to cook for her family and anyone else who came along.
She was preceded in death by her father, O’Bannan McCall; mother, Cynthia Myrl Comalander; husband, Horace Pickern; two sister, Helen Hughes and Gail Smith, and one brother, Robert McCall.
Mrs. Pickern is survived by her three sons, Rev. Gene (Julie) Pickern of Fort Worth, TX., Rick (Lonna) Pickern and David (Debbie) Pickern, all of Robertsdale, Ala.; one daughter, Jackie (Tommy) Steadham of Robertsdale; one brother, John (Maxine) McCall of Bratt; three sisters, Nancy Sessions and Annie Bryan, both of Atmore, Ala. and Debbie Cribbs of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with Bro. Mike Lynn, Pastor and Bro. Greg Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.

Marleen Dagmar (Link) Rodrigues
Mrs. Marleen Dagmar (Link) Rodrigues, age 84, of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away in her home after a long battle with cancer Friday, September 6, 2024. She was born in Germany to the late Herman and Erika Olga Link. Her early life in Germany instilled in her a love for her heritage and a resilience that carried her through life’s challenges and joys. She and her husband came to the United States in 1963 and settled in Walnut Hill, Fla. where they lived for the past 50 years.
Her career was in the cardiology field within Sacred Heart and West Florida hospital, where she retired. Her life was a testament to the values of love, family, and perseverance. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering strength. Her life was marked by her generosity, compassion, humbleness, unwavering support and her passion for knitting
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ingrid Prasuhn.
Mrs. Rodriques is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Frank Rodriques; her devoted daughter, Scarlett (Rodrigues) Henderson; grandchildren, Serenah Wakeman and Nickolas Rieth; her brother, Tom (Erika) Link and her niece, Kathrin Link.
A memorial mass will be held at Saint Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 600 South Main Street, Atmore, Ala. to honor Marleen’s life and the wonderful memories she leaves behind. Following the service, a reception will be held at the church hall. Her inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery 12th Ave. in Pensacola, Fla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to either Saint Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church in Atmore, Ala. or a charity of choice.
