Randolph “Randy” Martin

Mr. Randolph “Randy” Martin, age 71, passed away at his home Wednesday, August 28, 2024.  He was born in Atmore, Ala. to A.D. Martin and Willie Lee McGhee Martin. His career as a towboat Captain allowed him to travel many rivers during his forty-three years of work. He loved traveling with his wife in the United States and many foreign countries. Alabama football was a passion enjoying home games. He was a familiar face at home games and often traveled to other stadiums nationwide. He spoke of the National Championship trip to Pasadena, Calif. He was a member of the Poarch Band Creek Indians and enjoyed visiting the casino. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Amber Holland; brothers, Shirley McGhee, Alex” Jody” Martin, Robert “Bobby” Martin and sister, Olivette McGhee.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Carrie Martin; step-daughters, Crystal Sanchez and Courtney Jackson; siblings, Patricia Tew, Ellis (Cindy) Martin, Tim Martin, Phillip (Donna) Martin and Matthew (Denise) Martin; grandchildren, Alyssa, Logan, Bryden, Keleigh, Isabella and Xylo; numerous nieces and nephews; caregivers, Vernesha, Princess and Lisa.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore with Dr. Salem Saloom (St. Anna’s Episcopal Church) will officiate. Interment will be at New Home Cemetery, Poarch, Ala.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Martin, Luke Martin, Jake Martin, Seth Martin, Logan Brown and Bryden Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Langley, Dave Stephens, Martin Meckel, Justin McGhee, Russell Martin, Brad Martin, Tyler McGhee, Kevin McGhee, Jarrad Tew, Jason Stephens and James Agerton.

Carolyn O’Farrell Morgan

Mrs. Carolyn O’Farrell Morgan, age 89, a lifelong resident of Bratt, Fla., passed away Friday, August 30, 2024. She was born to Lilly Bell and John O’Farrell. She retired from the Escambia County School System and was cherished by all who knew her. She will be fondly remembered as a beautiful, loving mother, wife, and grandmother.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Dalton Morgan; two of her children, Gwin Carter and Ricky Morg,n; one grandchild; Josh Eubanks; her siblings, Estelle Hanks, Everette O’Farrell, Ethelene Gibson and Eugene O’Farrell.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her children, Keith (Barbara) Morgan, Debbie Smith, Rodney (Charlotte) Morgan and Sharon Robbins; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ellis O’Farrell, Reita (Charles) Lowery, Patricia O’Farrell and Lamar (Joan) O’Farrell.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 2, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Josh Long officiating.  Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, Fla.

The family will receive friends held Monday, September 2, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Sheila Ephraim

Sheila Ephriam, resident of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in Buffalo, N.Y.
