Mr. Roy Bert Johnson, age 79, passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2024 in Atmore, AL.
Mr. Johnson greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed planting a garden and watching a good western on TV.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bertlee (Melvina Blair) Johnson, two brothers, Buddy Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, and one sister, Mary Kent.
He is survived by his wife. Annie Tyree Johnson, of Atmore, AL; four daughters, Wanda Craft, of Dixon Ville, AL; Brenda Coker (Matt Shiver) of Atmore, AL; Linda Gorum, of Huxford, AL; Sandra Square, of Flomaton, AL; two brothers, David Johnson, of Appleton, AL; Wayne Johnson, of Appleton, AL; two sisters, Sally Rackard, of Brewton, AL; Jean Wright, of Brewton, AL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Briella Lee Bailey
Infant Briella Lee Bailey, of Poarch, Ala., born Monday, May 20, 2024 at Spring Hill Medical Center, entered her heavenly home Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Briella was her Mother’s world, her Daddy’s girl and her Brother’s “Brinnifer”. She had a contagious smile that would light up the room. She brought so much love and happiness to all knew her and truly was a gift sent from above.
She was proceeded in death by grandparents, Junior Bailey, Marshall Boatwright and Verlie-McGhee Bailey; Uncle Joseph Bailey; Aunt Faith Bailey; special cousins, Denver Shuttlesworth, Jake Bailey and Joey McGhee; special friend, Hannah Martin.
Infant Briella is survived by her parents, Brianna Bailey and James Peoples; brother, Zayden Bailey; grandparents, Larry (Poppy) and Robin (Ra-Ra) Bailey, Timmy (Paw Paw) and Jessica (Mi-Mi) Bailey, Donna (Nanny) Bailey, Faye (Grandma) Boatwright; the best aunt, Chloe Bailey; bonus grandparents, Larry Paul and Stephanie Kendrick, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. at McCullough Christian Center with Pastor, Cornelius Phillips officiating. Burial followed at New Home Cemetery.

Linda Gleaton Whitman
Mrs. Linda Gleaton Whitman, age 76, of Semmes, Ala., passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in Semmes. She was born in Brewton, Ala. She was a 1966 graduate of T.R. Miller High School and a 1985 graduate University of South Alabama with a degree in Elementary Education. She devoted her career to nurturing young minds, working as a school bus driver for Escambia County before becoming a teacher in Conecuh County. After retiring, she continued substituting in the Mobile County Public Schools until the onset of COVID-19 in 2020. She was also happiest at the beach, spending cherished moments with her daughters and grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Whitman is survived by her husband of nearly fifty-nine years, Bill; her daughters, Dr. Michele Whitman Collier (Brian), Melanie Whitman, and Monica Whitman Smoot; her grandchildren Austin White, Lexie Collier McDonald (Jonathan), Justin White, Cade Collier, Peyton White, Maggie Ragland, Sara Smoot a; her nephew, Wesley Gleaton (Mejia) and Carter Smoot; her sister, Nancy Gleaton May; her brother, Eric Gleaton and many dear family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, Brewton with Rev. John Baxter officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery Brewton.

Eunice Bolling Blackmon
Mrs. Eunice Bolling Blackmon, age 84, born in Perdido, Ala. was a life-long resident of Bay Minette Ala., passed away at her home Thursday, August 15, 2024. She graduated from Perdido Jr. High and Baldwin County High Schools, then later earned a Secretarial Science degree at William Yancey (Coastal Community) State Jr. College. She took pride in serving the citizens of Baldwin County as Deputy Clerk from 1957-1970 and then elected as Circuit Clerk serving from 1971-1988 for a combined total of thirty-one years with the Twenty-Eighth Judicial Circuit Court of Alabama. She was a member of Perdido Church of God singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and Children’s Church as well as teaching and serving as the church treasurer at the Vision Ministries Church of God in Bay Minette.
She loved traveling, growing roses, growing and canning vegetables and making homemade jellies. Her inspiration in her later years was helping to raise her four granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Archie and Lula Belle (Coleman) Bolling; her husband and love of her life, James Vester Blackmon; brother, James Winston Bolling; sisters, Wylene Powell Linam, Naomi Ruth Rotch and Amy Sherrill Gunn.
Mrs. Blackmon is survived by her children, Bishop James Alan (Michelle) Blackmon, Jeremy Blackmon and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Travis Blackmon; four grandchildren, Alison (Joshua) Britt, Amber (Jay) Scruggs, Ayriel Blackmon and Meri-Katharyn Blackmon; great-grandsons, James Charlton Scruggs and Sawyer Britt; nephews, James Ray Powell, Dale Bolling, Gary Bolling, Roland Rotch Jr. and Christopher Gunn; nieces, Debbie Powell, Janella White and Shannon Cole; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Vision Ministries Church of God with Bishop Alan Blackmon, Bishop Stephen Sexton and Rev. Jay Scruggs officiating. Burial will follow at Dean’s Cemetery in Rabun Ala.

Thelma Johnson Lambert
Mrs. Thelma Johnson Lambert, age 91, of Satsuma, Ala. passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was born to Starling Williamson Johnson and Mary Taylor Johnson. She was a devoted member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Theodore, Ala. She retired from Apartment Services and Management and, alongside her husband, was involved in a successful real estate business.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband William Arnold Lambert; parents and seven siblings, Grady Johnson, Leroy Johnson, Myrtice Johnson, Harold “Buddy” Johnson, Sam Johnson, Willie Johnson and Dorothy Johnson Chancery.
Mrs. Lambert is survived by her children, Terry Arnold (Andrea) Lambert of Uriah, Ala., Tommy Howard (Angela) Lambert of Theodore, Ala. and Sue (Van) Sawyer of Satsuma; her siblings, Lillie (David) Rowland and Robert Johnson; grandchildren, Chris (Tiffany) Lambert, Terry “T.J.” (Lauren) Lambert, Eric (Kim) Sawyer, Sarae (Ray) Roberts, Rebecca (Stephen) Murray, Ryan Lambert and Jill (Kurt) Stokes; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Hannah, Henslea, Hunter, Harper, Hadlyn, Hudson, Harrison, Houston, Logan, Kristin, Kendall, Alayna, Addison, Allyson, Ansleigh, Jacob, Jon, Ollie, Anna, Adaline, Reid, and Rafe; one great-great-grandson; numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jay Towne officiating. Interment will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Goodway, Ala.

Allen Nichols
Mr. Allen Nichols, age 82, of Atmore, Ala. passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024. He was born in Monroeville, Ala. to the late Minnie Bell and Joe T. Nichols. He worked at Johnson Timber Company for many years. He was a kind person and was a “Mr. Fix-it” and loved working on cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Allene Phillips; brothers, Joe Louis Nichols, Eddie Lee Nichols, Samuel Lee Nichols, Will Nichols, Willie Nichols and Albert Nichols.
Mr. Nichols is survived by his son, Frances Tyrone Blount; brothers, Larry Nichols (Dorothy) of Uriah, Ala., Earnest Nichols of Detroit, Mich., Robert Ear Nichols (Darnell) of Atmore; sisters, Mary Ann Roberts of Atmore, Ellaweese “Smith and Hattie Louise Martin of Milwaukee, Wisc, Willie Mae Nichols of Pensacola, Fla. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Norah Knott
Mr. Norah Knott, age 82, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, August 5, 2024. He was born in Cantonment to David and Moriah-Marshall Knott. He attended school in Escambia County Florida School District. In his spiritual walk he united with Community Baptist Church for nineteen years. Later he attended Emmanuel’s Faith Christian Center. He worked in many capacities: cement finisher, plumber, Monsanto Inc., City of Atmore, Daniel Construction, Shipyard and help build Holman Facility.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ollie “Doll” Johnson and Armaree Franklin.
Mr. Knott is survived by his wife, Doris Smith-Knott; sons, Eric Chambers of Pensacola, Fla. and Maurice Kendrell Smith of Portsmouth, Va.; brothers, David Knott (Consiwilla, deceased) of Walnut Hill, Fla and Alonzo Knott (Annie deceased) of Atmore, Ala.; sister, Narcissus McDowell (Willie deceased) of Pensacola; devoted friend, Ray Marshall and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel’s Faith Center with Bishop Wayne Johnson, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Felicia “Lisa” Evette Riley
Ms. Felicia “Lisa” Evette Riley, age 51, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024. She was born to the late Elmore and Carolyn Riley, Jr. She was a proud 1991 graduate of Escambia County High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Ms. Riley is survived by her daughter, Jakiya Nicole Tucker; three brothers, Kenyon Riley, Eric Riley and Scottie Hall; one sister, Anushka Banks and a true friend, Shaketia Dubose Crenshaw; a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist church with Charles Johnson, Pastor and Dr> Monroe Tucker, Jr., presiding. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
