The following arrests were reported by Atmore Police Department (APD) officers during the period from July 26 through July 29:
Willis Williams

Williams

An Atmore man was arrested around 3:10 a.m. on July 28, after an APD officer observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of Mosley Street, its engine running. An individual later identified as 36-year-old Willis Williams was asleep in the vehicle.
The officer also spotted an unspecified quantity of what appeared to be synthetic cannabis (Spice) in the Atmore man’s lap. Officers were able to wake Williams after a few minutes and called for an ambulance to assess him. Williams refused the medical assessment and was placed under arrest.
He is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center, from which he was released on bond July 29.
Jennifer Denise Kroutter

Kroutter

A Mobile County woman was arrested July 27 on a felony drug possession charge after police were sent to the 500 block of South Main Street around 9:15 p.m. to investigate reports of “a female knocking on doors of multiple residences.”
Police discovered the female, identified as Jennifer Kroutter, 44, of Axis, was wanted by Bay Minette police on an active misdemeanor arrest warrant.
The officers searched Kroutter’s handbag when they took her into custody. They discovered several dozen Suboxone strips (used in the treatment of opioid addiction) and several “items that are commonly used to ingest narcotics.”
Kroutter is charged locally with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transferred to Baldwin County authorities on July 30.
Kiley Glaze

Glaze

A 19-year-old Atmore woman was arrested July 26 after police, who pulled her over due to an expired tag, discovered she was wanted by Baldwin County authorities.
The traffic stop was conducted June 12 on Alabama 21, near its junction with Wooten Road. When police ran the driver’s license of Kiley Glaze, they discovered she was the subject of an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court to answer 2022 charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
During the officers’ interaction with Glaze they were given consent to search the vehicle. They found about a gram of marijuana and a gram of methamphetamine (both of which were confirmed by field tests), along with a marijuana grinder.
Glaze was turned over to a Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office deputy, who processed her into the Baldwin County Jail.
APD narcotics investigators later obtained warrants charging her with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Baldwin County authorities reportedly transferred Glaze to APD custody on July 26, and she was booked into the ECDC, from which she was released July 29.
Linnie Buxton

Buxton

A Baldwin County woman, the sister of an Atmore woman who was jailed July 2 in connection with the June 24 theft of copper wiring from an Atmore business, was also jailed July 29 in connection with the same theft.
Linnie Buxton, 48, of Bay Minette was later identified as a suspect, and APD investigators obtained a warrant charging her with first-degree theft of property, which indicates the stolen copper wire had a value of more than $2,500.
Buxton’s sister, 48-year-old Nakia Requel Buxton, was the first suspect identified and was taken into custody July 2. The case is still under investigation, and additional arrests are possible, police said.
Linnie Buxton was released from jail July 31.
Nadica Lyons

Lyons

An Atmore woman, initially arrested on a misdemeanor trespassing charge, was also charged with felony drug possession after police found her to be in possession of synthetic marijuana when she was jailed.
According to police reports, officers were sent around 1 p.m. to the 500 block of Bragg Street, where a disturbance had been reported. The attention of the first arriving officer was directed toward a female, later identified as 24-year-old Nadica Lyons, who was walking away from the apartment complex.
It turns out that Lyons had been trespassed from the apartment complex a week earlier because of a disturbance involving the same individuals. She was placed under arrest for third-degree criminal trespass, a violation that could have resulted in, at worst, a $200 fine and 30 days in jail.
Instead, during the booking process at Atmore Municipal Jail, she was found to be in possession of an unspecified quantity of synthetic cannabis (Spice), although she had been asked several times — and denied each time — if she had anything illegal in her possession.
She was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of second-degree promoting prison contraband and was processed into the ECDC, where she remained Tuesday, August 6.
