Tribal police nab Birmingham man on drug trafficking charge

Poarch Creek police arrested a Birmingham man June 25 on numerous charges, including drug trafficking.
No details were available, but the Escambia County Detention Center website shows that 54-year-old Darryl Steen was booked into the facility on two felony and two misdemeanor drug charges, as well as a weapons charge.
He remained in the county lockup early Tuesday, July 9, held on one count each of trafficking in a controlled substance (unspecified), possession of a controlled substance (unspecified), second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of brass knuckles.

Atmore police arrested a 49-year-old Atmore man Friday, June 28, on felony drug possession charges after he was found lying in the traffic lanes of a city street.
Taurus Dewany Smith was arrested shortly after 7:55 a.m. when patrol officers encountered him in the roadway in the area of Carver Avenue and Union Street.
Reports are that Smith “appeared to be under the influence” and during his interaction with Smith the officer recovered over 10 grams of synthetic marijuana (Spice) and various items used to ingest narcotics.
Smith is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the ECDC on bond July 1.

A Walker County man was arrested June 27 by Atmore police after he used a fake name and date of birth when an officer pulled his vehicle over around 8 p.m. on Alabama 21 for failure to maintain its lane.
According to reports, the vehicle’s driver, 54-year-old Jeremy David Mills of Jasper, provided the officer with a false name and date of birth, apparently aware he had several pending arrest warrants from agencies in north Alabama.
When Mills was taken into custody for providing the false information, police discovered over two grams of a clear, crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, along with a glass pipe that contained methamphetamine residue.
Mills was released July 8 on bond from the county jail. He is charged with one count each of obstruction of justice by using a false identity, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

No details were available, but the ECDC website shows that Poarch police arrested a Mobile woman June 23 on drug trafficking and possession charges.
Summer Maymard, who remained in the jail early Tuesday, July 9, is charged with one count each of trafficking in a controlled substance (unspecified), possession of a controlled substance (unspecified) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jail records show that county sheriff’s deputies arrested an Atmore man June 26 on felony drug possession charges.
No details were provided, but the ECDC website shows that Van Clayton Skelton, 45, was jailed on one count each of possession of a controlled substance (unspecified), first-degree possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Skelton remained behind bars early Tuesday, July 9.

An Atmore man, 30-year-old Desmond Deishon Jones, was arrested June 29 by sheriff’s deputies on two felony drug possession charges.
According to ECDC records, Jones is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance (unspecified) and first-degree possession of marijuana. He was also charged with a front-seat passenger not using a seat belt, driving while license is revoked or suspended and having an expired tag.
He remained in the county jail early Tuesday, July 9.

An Atmore man was arrested June 27 by Poarch police on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.
According to jail records, 36-year-old Enrico Marchello Ramieri is charged with one count each of distribution of a controlled substance (unspecified) and second-degree possession of marijuana.
Ramieri remained in jail early Tuesday, July 9.
