Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department officials reported that no one was injured in a June 23 collision between a Nissan Sentra and a Chevrolet pickup that occurred on U.S. 31, near its junction with Maplewood Drive. Reports show the wreck happened around 7:45 p.m. when the Sentra, which was turning into a private driveway, turned into the path of the pickup. Airbags were activated in both vehicles, but nobody was injured. The highway was closed for about two hours as the wreckage was cleared.
