Atmore police, answering another June 19 call, drove up on a two-vehicle collision involving drivers who are brothers. Police reports indicate that a 2008 Mercury Marquis driven by a 20-year-old Atmore man was traveling south on 4th Avenue and failed to stop at the Church Street intersection sign. His brother, 22, in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, “was driving east on East Church Street at a high rate of speed” and struck the Mercury in the rear, causing major damage to both vehicles but no injuries. The Marquis wound up just a few feet short of a nearby residence’s porch; the Silverado came to a stop on 5th Avenue.
