Role models

Escambia County High School graduating seniors did a walk-through at Rachel Patterson Elementary School Tuesday morning, May 16. The walk through has become a tradition in elementary schools that are in the high school’s feeder pattern.

FBC raises funds for St. Jude

The First Baptist Church preschool kids participated in a fund-raiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital recently. Burger frenzy

Traffic was backed up for more than a mile on South Main Street Monday evening, May 8, as locals waited for a rare chance to experience Ponderosa Party Burgers at David’s Catfish House, which originally operated as The Ponderosa. Some diners reported waiting in line almost 90 minutes to get the miniature sandwiches, offered at 50 cents each, while they lasted, in celebration of the restaurant’s 30th year in business.…
