Beverly Phillips Blackwell
Beverly Phillips Blackwell, age 71, of Atmore, AL passed away on October 16, 2023. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to Burl Franklin Phillips, Sr. and Faye Coon Phillips. She was a member of Gravel Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She was a beloved teacher with the Mobile County School System for twenty-five years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Burl Franklin Phillips, Jr.
Ms. Blackwell is survived by her daughters, Katherine Blackwell and Faye Temple Blackwell; her sister, Phyllis Phillips Hendrix along with numerous cousins and friends.
Services will be held at a later date.

Dean McCauley Jones
Mrs. Dean McCauley Jones, age 86, of Century, Fla. passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023. She was a member of the Brewton congregation of Jehovah Witness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Winford Jones; son, Mikel Jones; three brothers, Clifton McCauley, Clyde McCauley and Charles McCauley.
Mrs. Jones is survived by four sons, Vinson(Janet) Jones of Tallahassee, Fla., Gerald (Lisa) Jones of Flomaton, Ala., Terry (Pamela) Jones of Jennings, La., and Ron (Yenny) Jones of Mobile, AL; three daughters, Sherry (Bruce) Waters and Belinda (Tom) Arrington, all of Flomaton and Rose (Richard) Ash of Century; two sisters, Gloria Cann of Pensacola, Fla. and Freida Cruz of Houston, Texas; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
As a Jehovah Witness, she passed with eyes of faith, peaceful and courageously. Her victory is sure.
Services will be announced at a later date.

Elmore Earnest Cruit, Jr.
Mr. Elmore Earnest Cruit, Jr., age 74, died Saturday, October 14, 2023, at his residence in Mobile, Ala. He was born in New Orleans, La. and was a longtime resident. He spent his early years in Metairie and Kenner, La. attending schools in Jefferson Parish Louisiana school system. He travelled extensively with his parents and enjoyed meeting new people and places. He especially enjoyed holiday family gatherings with his Cruit and Meador cousins. Elmore had a keen interest in understanding how things worked and provided excellent care to his pet cat. He bowled on a team with his dad, where he became an excellent competitor in the sport. Moving to Mobile he quickly adapted to his new home. He introduced himself to others and became an active team member in the l’Arche Mobile community. He also looked forward to attending “A Time for Us” at Redemption Church. He enjoyed bowling on a unified team, square dancing with the Square Dealers, parading at Mardi Gras and attending art classes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmore Cruit, Sr. and Louise Meador Cruit. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 24 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Mobile, 806 Government Street.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, 11748 Old Stage Road, Atmore, Ala. 36502.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Light Mobile community (formerly l’Arche of Mobile) or the charity of your choice.

Timothy Shawn Boutwell
Mr. Timothy Shawn Boutwell, age 49, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 in Mo. He was born in Atmore, Ala. to Jimmy Ollie and Nancy Rutherford Boutwell. He was raised in Flomaton, Ala., resided in Evergreen, Ala. for twenty-five years and resident of Smithville, Mo. He had a passion for fishing and grilling out, loved spending time with family and friends especially his numerous nieces and nephews. Enjoyed all the sporting events with his family. He attended Smithville Family Worship Center since moving to Missouri, always eager to help out.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dean Boutwell and Stanley Boutwell.
Mr. Boutwell is survived by his wife, Angela Burgess Boutwell; three sons, Stephen (Doan) Wages of Trussville, Ala., Brent Wages-Joyner of Montevallo, Ala. and Levi Boutwell of Evergreen, Ala.; three great-nieces and six great- nephews, Kiersten, Gabriella, Dakota, Dawson, Kamden, Darryl, Alana, Luke and Jayceon; three brothers, Tyrone (Rhonda) Boutwell and Todd Boutwell, both of Atmore and Randy Boutwell of Pollard, Ala.; two sisters, Vickie (Eddie) Wright and Candy (Jim) Wright of East Brewton, Ala.; numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Reverend Mark Burgess and Reverend Fred Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 28, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.
Pallbearers will be Terry Nichols, Johnathan Smith, Tony Scott, Lucas Trawick, Craig Adams and Gerald Johnson.
Dorothy Little Boggan
Mrs. Dorothy Little Boggan, age 82 of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 in Atmore. She was born to the late Alton and Amolie Benton Little in Bankston, Ala. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Boggan is survived by her husband, Jesse Boggan; three sons, Richard (Betty) Boggan of Texas, Michael Boggan of Lamar County, Ala. and Daryl K. Boggan of Butler Street; four grandchildren, Daryl Christian Boggan, Madison Boggan, Laura E. Boggan and Samuel Boggan; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Jayce.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Private family interment will be held at Miller Cemetery at a later date.

Jacquelyn Daniel Presley
Mrs. Jacquelyn Daniel Presley (Jackie), age 90, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 in her home community of Nokomis, Ala. She attended Perdido Elementary, Perdido Junior High and Escambia County High School. She graduated from Mobile Infirmary School of Nursing with her RN degree. She was employed with Greenlawn Hospital, now known as Atmore Community Hospital for forty-two years. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, cooking, baking, being active in her church, watching Alabama football and spoiling her grandchildren. She was well known in her community for her cooking, especially her cheese straws.
She was preceded in death by her parents Perlie Edward and Leona Jeter Daniel; her husband, James Ollie Presley, Jr.; son, Edward Allen Presley (Eddie); daughter-in-law, Debra Presley; grandson, Troy Allen Presley; great-granddaughter, Gabriella Casey; brother, Joe Edward Daniel (Sue) and sisters, Geraldine Williams (Frank) and Edro Hall (Ray).
Mrs. Presley, known as Jack to her family, is survived by her children, Laura Presley Smith (Don) and Mark Daniel Presley; six grandchildren, Allison Presley Wynn (Guy), Anna Presley, Stephanie Roberts Maddox (Walt), Eric Roberts (Morgan) and Kelley Presley Cotton; fifteen great-grandchildren, Troy Edward Presley: Cole, Cameron, Chasen, Ciera and Ceanna Wynn: Jacklyn Ash; Taylor and Eli Maddox: Christian and Peyton Roberts: Easton, Weston and Oaklynn Cotton; great-great-grandchild Kinsley Wynn; sister, Fredna Daniel Stewart and special niece, Martha Hall.
The family received friends Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. led by Bro. Dennis Daniels at Nokomis Baptist Church. Burial followed at Nokomis Baptist Church cemetery.
