A July 22 traffic stop conducted on a vehicle without a license plate turned up an Atmore woman wanted by Florida authorities
Atmore Police Department reports show the traffic stop occurred around 11:10 p.m. when an officer spotted a vehicle without a license plate traveling along South Main Street.
A license check showed that the driver, later identified as Tiffany Dale, 37, was wanted by Escambia County, Fla. authorities on a warrant charging her with grand theft.
The degree of crime for which Dale is accused was not specified. Under Florida law, there are three levels of grand theft, as well as separate levels if the crime was committed against a person 65 years old or older.
According to Escambia County (Ala.) Detention Center records, Dale remained in the facility Monday, August 1, awaiting extradition to Florida.
