Mrs. Sally Barnett Bridgman, age 62, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022. She was born in Atmore to Ned and Ethel Prestwood Barnett. She was a graduate of Troy University and worked as a secretary for many years with Brantley’s Tires.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Miles Brandon Bridgman and her siblings, Preston Barnett, Farrar Barnett and Glen Barnett.
Mrs. Bridgeman is survived by her husband of for years, William Bridgman; her brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Barnett; her sister, Beverly Barnett (Johnny) Sanslow and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

James Curtis Maddox Sr.
Mr. James Curtis Maddox Sr, age 48, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 in Bay Minette, Ala. He was born in Atmore, Ala. and has resided most of his life in Little River, Ala. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, swimming, and being outdoors. He enjoyed watching Alabama Football.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Curtis Maddox.
Mr. Maddox is survived by his mother, Audrey Maddox of Little River; wife, Sarah Maddox, of Little River; three sons, Cody Williams of Monroeville, Ala., Tristen Maddox of Stockton, Ala. and James Curtis Maddox Jr. of Bay Minette, Ala.; one daughter, Aliyah Larson, of Little River; one brother, Jerry Phillip Maddox of Uriah, Ala.; one sister, Dana Marie Maddox of Little River; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Rev. Angelo Thomley officiating.

Jackie Lanell Gaylor
Mrs. Jackie Lanell Gaylor, age 65, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 peacefully at her home in Brewton, Ala. surrounded by her family. She was born in Mobile, Ala. and has resided most of her life in the Baldwin and Escambia County areas. She was a member of Booneville Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family, traveling, visiting closed bridges and waterfalls.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Narvell McGhee; grandparents, Gurthey Dean and Ola Mae McGhee.
Mrs. Gaylor is survived by her father, Rev. Ron R. (Peggy) McGhee Sr, of Booneville, Ala; her loving husband of ten years, David Gaylor Sr; of Brewton; one son, Patrick (Ulla) Gaylor of Prattville, Ala.; one daughter, Jennifer Renee (Billy) Joiner of Bay Minette, Ala.; two brothers, Ronald (Tanna) McGhee Jr and Jim (Joanne) McGhee, of Dothan, Ala.; two sisters, Rhonda (Richard) Daniels, of Huxford, Ala. and Kimberly (Terry) Kelly, of Atmore, Ala.; four grandchildren, Alex Gaylor, Noble Joiner, Larry Joiner, Amy Joiner, one great-grandchild, Wayne Prescott Joiner, numerous nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Booneville Baptist Church with Bro. David Atchinson officiating. Burial will follow at Booneville Baptist Cemetery.

Gilbert Theron Barlow
Mr. Gilbert Theron Barlow, age 75, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 in McDavid, Fla. He was a lifelong resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. He retired with Escambia Apartments with many years of employment. He enjoyed his time with his family and his grandsons. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Outdoorsman. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Gilbert and Gladys Ola Presley Barlow; one son, Patrick Barlow and one brother, Randall Barlow.
Mr. Barlow is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Linda Barlow of Walnut Hill; one daughter, Ronda Graves, of Walnut Hill; one brother, Travis (Deborah) Barlow, of Savannah, Ga.; one sister, Gayle (Ronnie) Martin, of Atmore, Ala.; two grandchildren, Mason Graves, Cole Graves, other relatives and friends.

Charlotte Klaus Levins
Mrs. Charlotte Klaus Levins, age 82, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 in Atmore, Ala. She was born in Augsburg, Germany and has resided in McDavid, Fla. for the past fifty-nine years. She enjoyed watching TV, working puzzles, and always enjoyed Christmas holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonhard and Maria Thurner Augsburg.
Mrs. Levins is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Arthur Carlton Levins, of Bratt, Fla.; one son, Jesse (Darlene) Levins, of Bratt; two daughters, Anita F. Levins and Angela Levins Thompson, all of Bratt; one brother, Mandford Thurner, of Augsburg; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives, and friends.

Edward Theodore Clayton, Jr.
Mr. Edward Theodore Clayton, Jr., age 87, of Magnolia Springs, Ala., passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at his home. He was born in Atmore, Ala. He was a member of Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church. In his lifetime, he was active serving in his church ministries and leadership. He had a heart for serving others. Before retirement he was on the board with Big Brothers and Big Sisters for United Way. One of his highlights after retirement was serving as a volunteer with the Kairos Prison Ministry He devoted his career to the school bus manufacturing industry. He was National Sales Manager with Bluebird Body Company and retired as Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Thomas Built Buses. Throughout his career, he was active in the National Safety Council and received the organization’s Distinguished Service to Safety Award, which is the council’s highest honor bestowed on an individual. After his retirement, he was honored to be inducted into the National Association for Pupil Transportation Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Theodore Clayton, Sr.; his mother, Lillian Boone Clayton and step-mother, Grace Dorriety Clayton.
Mr. Clayton is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Charlotte White Clayton; his children, Jennifer Clayton Jones (Jeffrey Wynn Jones) of Fairhope, Ala., Edward Theodore Clayton, III (Taska Gardner Clayton) of Magnolia Springs, Ashley Clayton Hertz (Darren Scott Hertz) of Bangkok, Thailand and Robert Daniel Clayton of Summerdale, Ala.; his sister, Glenda Clayton Lowry of Atmore, and eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A worship service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church in Fairhope, Ala.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.

Doris Rose Boutwell
Mrs. Doris Rose Boutwell, age 97, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 in Pensacola, Fla. She has resided in Flomaton, Ala. most of her life. She was a member of Gospel Light Temple Church. She embodied life to the fullest and remained independent to the very end. She loved her Lord, church and family unconditionally. She often spoke fondly of her parents. One of her most favorite memories as a child was picking cotton along-side her father. “She was a daddy’s girl”, she’d proudly say. She loved to make gravy and biscuits, word cross puzzles, and good company.
She was a social butterfly, never meeting a stranger. Her passion for quilting, gardening, canning, cooking, and that famous delicious divinity candy were generously shared to all that knew her. She was a hard worker and loved her job. She remained a loyal, dependable employee until the company closed and reluctantly retired in her late 70’s.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Franklin McCurdy and Mamie Catherine Settles McCurdy; one son, Carlton Cook; one daughter, Angel Rose Maddox; two grandsons, John Wayne Hays Jr. and Kenneth Sewell; one great-great grandson, Mason Ryals; six sisters, Mildred Johnson, Iona Busbee, Wilda Williams, Grace McCullough, Nita Pace, Hazel Coffee, and one brother, Everette McCurdy.
Mrs. Boutwell is survived by her one daughter, Mary (John Wayne) Hays, of Coushatta, La.; daughter-in-law, Marion Cook, of Cantonment, Fla.; seven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; twenty- three great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Rev. Marion Williams officiating. Burial will follow at MT. Carmel Cemetery.

Stephen Hurst Payne
Mr. Stephen Hurst Payne, age 73, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 in Atmore, Ala. He was born in Anniston, Ala. to Thomas and Evie Payne. He worked for many years as a car salesman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Don Payne and Chris Payne.
Mr. Payne is survived by his sons, Stephen Dallas Payne (Cara Mayhew) of Bay Minette, Ala. and Justin Payne of Brewton, Ala.; his daughters, Kalani Weaver of Bay Minette and Kathy Payne of Anniston along with numerous grandchildren.
