Utilities Clerk Vickie James, at left, is shown with West Escambia Utilities General Manager Kenny Smith on December 30, her last day of work after 43 years with the company. Vickie worked in WEU’s front office for three years, then was in charge of billing, accounts and payroll for three years before being named clerk of the utilities board, a position she held until her retirement. Her retirement plans reportedly include taking care of her husband, Tony, and spending time with her grandchildren.
