Troopers ID drivers from Sunday wreck
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division responded to a two-vehicle crash at approximately 4:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, in Escambia County. The crash occurred when a 2017 Toyota Camry driven by Glenn Hadley, 20, of Atmore collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Michael Kendrick, 53, of Bay Minette. Atmore students on UWA honors lists
Four students from Atmore were named to The University of West Alabama honors lists for the Fall 2020 academic semester. ECMS spelling bee winners
Lemon Barlow Escambia County Middle School held its annual schoolwide Spelling Bee, Thursday, January 7. Winners were John Barlow (fifth grade) in the fourth and fifth grade category; and Imari Lemon (seventh grade) in the sixth through eighth grade category). Thank you, Mr. Quimby
Stan Quimby worked as assistant principal at Escambia County Middle School and he retired from there. When he passed away January 3, some folks decided he should be honored one last time. As Mr. Quimby’s funeral procession passed by on January 6, several educators were in front of the school to pay their respects, and the school sign was changed to show the community’s appreciation.
