The search for a new superintendent

News Staff Report

In May, the Escambia County Board of Education voted to enter into an agreement with Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) to provide services in support of the search for a new superintendent. Current superintendent John Knott announced his retirement in April to be effective July 31; however, the date was later changed to August 31 to allow AASB ample time to conduct the search and the board to make a decision.

The following six educators are AASB’s choice of candidates for the position (names in alphabetical order by last name), as presented to the board of education July 13.
