A 15-year-old Atmore girl was taken by ambulance to Atmore Community Hospital after a two-vehicle collision around 9 a.m., Saturday, April 24, at the intersection of McRae and Montgomery streets. According to Atmore Police Department reports, the teen, driving a Chevrolet Impala, pulled from a stop sign and failed to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming Chevy Silverado that was driven by Justin Byrd, 20, also of Atmore. The Impala then collided with an Alabama Power utility pole, causing a brief power outage in the area.
