The Atmore Lions Club met on March 17 in the Mayson Auditorium at Atmore Community Hospital.
President Lion Brandy Giger called the meeting to order and Lion Nancy Karrick gave the invocation and blessing. The group joined in saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Golf tournament chairman Taylor Lee reported that nine teams participated in the tournament with 54 signs sold. Profit to the local club for their service projects was almost $8.000.
Another fund raiser which will go to St. Jude is a spaghetti dinner on April 12 and will be held at David’s. Signup sheets to help with the dinner and also for Mayfest were passed around to members. Also distributed was a list of people nominated for leadership positions for the club in the upcoming Lion’s year.
President Giger announced that we will be returning to regular meetings held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, beginning on April 7, at the hospital. Members are encouraged to mark the dates on their calendars and come for some good fellowship, lunch, and valuable information on ways to serve our community.
We welcome anyone who would like to join Lions to come and help us as “We Serve” the Atmore community.
