Even though 2020 is over, 2021 is starting with many of the same pandemic challenges previously faced. One of those is scheduling events with large gatherings.
Every year, Lillie Johnson and her fellow members of the Yellow Hat Society sponsor the Rosa Parks Breakfast near the date of Ms. Parks’ birthday, February 4.
However, this year’s event has been cancelled.
“We cancelled this year’s breakfast as we try to slow the spread of the virus,” Johnson said. “We don’t want anyone getting sick. If everything is all right next year, we’ll be back. We appreciate everyone who has attended in the past, and we look forward to seeing you at the Rosa Parks Breakfast in 2022.”
The Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting (Gala) tentatively scheduled for January has been postponed. Chamber Executive Director Anna Norton said the Chamber is working diligently to ensure the gala will be held, just not in January.
