An Atmore man was reportedly taken by ambulance to an area hospital Sunday afternoon, January 10, after a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 31, near Katelyn Lane in Nokomis. State trooper reports show that the crash happened around 4:05 p.m. and involved a Toyota Camry and a Chevy Tahoe. The names of the drivers were not available by Tuesday’s press deadline. A witness said the Camry crossed the highway’s center line and hit the Chevy, about seven miles west of Atmore. The impact sent the Camry rear-first through a wooden pasture fence, while the Tahoe came to rest about 250 feet away, on its passenger side.
