

Escambia County Middle School held its annual schoolwide Spelling Bee, Thursday, January 7. Winners were John Barlow (fifth grade) in the fourth and fifth grade category; and Imari Lemon (seventh grade) in the sixth through eighth grade category). Teacher Tiffany Hobbs coordinated the spelling bee; Scott Benton served as the pronouncer; and judges were Dr. Valarie Smith, Hope Lassiter, and Sara Chavers. John and Imari will compete in the countywide spelling bee, Wednesday, January 20, at Flomaton.
