Atmore Christian enters the Christmas break still dominating on the court after extending their season record to 7-1 with a 50-46 win over rival S.L. Jones last Tuesday, December 15.
“S.L. Jones has always been a formidable opponent and tough rival,” ACS head coach Tim Battles said. “This win is huge for us against a really good team. The victory was exactly what we needed going into the Christmas break.”
Caeden Battles topped the scoring charts for the Rams for the fifth game in a row, putting 23 points on the board. He was followed by his younger brother, Emmett Battles, who scored 12.
Reese White contributed eight points, Gage Gades had six and Dexter Smoker tagged on one point.
The win was a breath of fresh air as Titus Dean, a team leader, was out due to a lower arm injury.
“We missed Titus on the court,” Battles said. “He is a great player and even better kid. Each player plays a leadership role in some capacity so when we are missing a guy it does make things more difficult, but the guys got it done.”
ACS will next travel to face Central Christian in Robertsdale on January 7.
