Apparently arriving in Atmore on his sleigh during the Christmas parade Saturday night, December 12, was not enough for Santa. He’s planning another trip to Atmore next week.
Seems that Santa got in touch with the city of Atmore, the fire department, and the police department that he will travel the neighborhoods of Atmore next week before heading back to the North Pole to jump on his sleigh on Christmas Eve.
“Santa’s head Elf called and asked to use one of the fire department’s trucks for Santa to spread Christmas Cheer on Monday December 21st, Tuesday December 22nd, and Wednesday December 23rd,” Chamber president Emilee Waters said. “The schedule sent to us has Santa starting his journey around 4:30 p.m. each evening and continuing until each section of the town has been greeted with lights, sirens, and Ho Ho Hos! Make sure to be ready! Go outside and listen for him; it won’t sound like sleigh bells but you will certainly hear. The excitement and joy will spread through the air as he approaches your street!”
Santa will not get off the fire truck, but will greet everyone along the way.
Following is Santa’s schedule for next week, approximately 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. each evening:
Monday, December 21 – western side of town (west of Main Street, north and south quadrants. Santa may start a little earlier since he’s covering two quadrants.)
Tuesday, December 22 – northeastern quadrant, north of Highway 31 and east of Main Street
Wednesday, December 23 – southeastern quadrant, south of Highway 31 and east of Main Street.
