Daniel Eugene Montel
Mr. Daniel Eugene Montel, age 81, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Atmore, Ala. He was a native of Wabash, Ind., former resident of Atlanta, Ga. and had resided in Huxford, Ala. for the past fifteen years. He retired from Colonel Bakery/Sara Lee and retired as Lead Supervisor with thirty-one years of service; he coached Little League Baseball for nineteen years and was a member and Deacon at Unity Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymon and Ruby
Marie Montel.
Mr. Montel is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Lois Montel of Atmore;
one son, Rusty (Jean) Montel of Atmore; one daughter, Teresa Eveline Montel
Harper (Jimmy Stanton) of Atmore; one brother, Richard Montel of Mich.; one
sister, Evelyn (Paul) McKenzie of Ohio; five grandchildren, Aaron, Jessika,
Craig, Joshua and Tyler; eight great-grandchildren, Lexy, Madalyn, Houston,
Vincent, Mary Cara, Cooper, Eli and Maddox and numerous nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Unity
Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Long and Bro. Steve Gunn officiating. Burial will
follow at Catawba Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 18, 2020 from 5:30 until 8 p.m.
at Unity Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be John Johnson, Frank Williams, Brandon Strawbridge, Wayne
Baker, Tim Wilkinson and Jim Wilkinson.

Mable McGhee Jackson
Mrs. Mable McGhee Jackson, age 94, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her home in Atmore, Ala. She was a native and life-long resident of Atmore. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and great-great-great grandmother. She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, Poarch Community Church and was a devoted Christian. She retired from Best Western Motels as a Supervisor with twenty years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Margie McGhee; husband of sixty years, Alton Jackson; son, Larry Jackson and grandson, Alton Sells.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her three sons, Ronnie (Debbie) Jackson and Eddie “Dinky” Jackson, all of Atmore, and Don (Marshann) Jackson of Brewton, Ala.; one daughter, Catherine (Garvis) Sells of Atmore; one sister, Martha “Sister” Jackson of Poarch, Ala.; fourteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; numerous great-great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Ward officiating. Burial will follow at the Judson Indian Cemetery.

Susan Manac Wicker
Mrs. Susan Manac Wicker, age 66, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Pensacola, Fla. She was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore, Ala. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Charles. She loved her children, grandchildren, St. Anna’s church and the Poarch Creek Tribe. She loved Christmas, Halloween and cats. She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and the St. Anna’s Episcopal Church. She was employed with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians with 31 years of service, where she served as Housing Director for 25 years and served two terms on Tribal Council from 1983-1989 and 1991-1994 as Treasurer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Leola Manac and four brothers.
Mrs. is survived by her husband of forty eight years, Charles Earl Wicker of Atmore; one son, Brian “Pete” and Maria Wicker of Land O’Lakes, Fla.; one daughter, Tawana and Ross Parham of Poarch, Ala.; one sister, Sarah Margaret Rone of Poarch; six grandchildren, Destiny Embry, Torey Wicker, Jude Parham, Charleigh Parham, Jayden Wicker and Abigail Wicker; one great grandchild, Mary Kenneth Embry and numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Father Mike Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

Betty Jo Wilson
Mrs, Betty Jo Wilson, age78, of Flomaton, Ala., passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Century, Fla. She was born in Frisco City, Ala. to the late Russell and Allie Hanks Kimmons. She loved her family and was a member of Holy Ground Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.C. Wilson; brothers and sisters; Marvin Kimmons, Russell Kimmons, Mack Kimmons, Estelle Buckhault and Faye Wilson.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Jim) Young of Canoe, Ala. and Christy Turner of Pueblo, Colo.; grandchildren, Adam (Holly) Young, Jaime Young, Davida Leino and Hunter Leino; great-grandchildren, Logan, Leah, Lauren, Adalynne and Ayden; special niece, Kathy Stophel and a very special friend and caregiver Earnestine Arnold. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Kathy Stophel officiating. Interment will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Brewton, Ala.

Mrs. Betty Whitlow Lee, age 83, of Spanish Fort, Ala., passed away Friday, December 11, 2020.She was born in Lagrange, Ga. to the late William Claude Whitlow, Sr. and Merlin Russell. She served as a Pink Lady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thornwell S. Lee.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Roy) Munger of Spanish Fort and Candy (Pierre) Bustany of France; her brother, William Claude Whitlow, Jr. and three grandchildren, Alan, Lee and Robert.

Mrs. Linda Stabler Floyd, age 71, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 in Laurel, Miss. She was born in Uriah, Ala., native of Atmore, Ala, former resident of Milton, Fla. and had resided in Ellisville, Miss. for the past 40 years. She was a graduate of Jones College, attended the University of Mississippi and Pensacola Junior College. She was a Respiratory Therapist at South Central Medical Center, where she retired with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Petal Ward, Miss.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Annie Stabler; two brothers, Elbert Stabler and Andrew Stabler; three sisters, Cathy Wood, Martha Cooper and Debbie McCurdy; two brothers-in-law, Horace Floyd and Charlie Floyd and nephew, Chris Newsome.
Mrs. Floyd is survived by her husband of 50 years, George Floyd of Ellisville; two brothers-in-law, J.D. Floyd of Jackson, Miss and Joe Floyd of Puckett, Miss; four sisters-in-law, Ellen Sumeral of Brandon, Miss., Freda Jackson of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Kathy McCoy of Brandon and Becky Cook of White Oak, Miss. and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Ewing “Pete” Weaver, Jr., age 67, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Mobile, Ala. He was a native of Perdido, Ala. and had resided in Crossroads, Ala. for the past sixty two years. He was retired from the Baldwin County Board of Education with thirty-one years of service. He was a farmer and member of the Fretwell Tabernacle Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewing Sr. and
Mary Weaver; two brothers, Ray Weaver and Lum Weaver and three sisters, Vidla
Williams, Alberta Sanders and Diane Gerbiege.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Nora J. Weaver of
Crossroads; special great-nephew, J.B. Williams of Cedartown, Ga.; three
brothers, Ollie (Dinna) Weaver of Whitehouse Fork, Ala., Michael Weaver and
Ronnie (Pauline) Weaver of Crossroads; twenty-six nieces and nephews and
numerous great nieces and nephews and many friends.
