Hicks joins UB board

United Bank announces the addition of a new member, Ida Ross Hicks, to the board of directors. The Daphne, Alabama businesswoman and community leader begins her term following service as a member of United Bank’s Baldwin County Advisory Board.
Hicks is the president of Swift Supply, Inc., a sixth generation family-owned business.
“We are pleased to have Ida Ross join our board.” UB President and CEO Bob Jones said. “Our organization fills an important need in our community and we appreciate her willingness to serve our great mission. Her professional experience will be a welcomed addition to our board.”
A graduate of Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, Hicks earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a focused study in Psychology. Hicks’ experience extends to committing two years of service to Senator Jeff Sessions in his Washington, D.C. office before joining Swift Supply in 2003. While learning the business, Hicks came to see the need to be a good community partner and to fit into each market.
Hicks understands the key aspects of business management, brand integrity, and delivering on that value promise.
Beyond her corporate endeavors, Hicks currently serves on the board of the National Lumber and Building Materials Dealers Association. She is the former Chair of the Construction Suppliers Association. Hicks is also a member of the Aspiring Leaders Committee of the Lumbermen’s Merchandising Corporation.
Hicks is married to Brad Hicks of Tuscaloosa and resides in Daphne with their three children, Jack, age 13; Amelia, age 11; and Janie, age 6.
