Gordon “Danny” Toler
Mr. Gordon “Danny” Toler, age 72, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 in Bay Minette, Ala.
He was a native of Fairhope, Ala. and had resided in Whitehouse Fork, Ala. for most of his life. He retired from the Baldwin County Highway Department with thirty-one years of service, a member of the Bay Minette Masonic Lodge #498 and was a Bow Hunter. He was a member Whitehouse Fork Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ann Brock and Carol Kirby and brother, Lamar Toler.
Mr. Toler is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Irene Toler of Whitehouse Fork; one daughter, Amy Melissa (Jeffery) Huffman of Whitehouse Fork; one brother, John Edward (Margaret) Toler of Whitehouse Fork and two grandchildren, Sara Huffman and Sydney Huffman.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Whitehouse Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial followed at Whitehouse Fork Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, February 17, 2020 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Whitehouse Fork Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Warren Donald, Jeff Donald, Ray Donald, Austin Kirby, Caleb Powell and Jeffery Huffman.
Honorary pallbearer was Wilton Donald.

Bobby Lee Depew
Mr. Bobby Lee Depew, age 53, passed away at his home in Mobile, Ala., Thursday, February 13, 2020. He was born in Hutchinson, Kans. to Bill and Katie Mae (Helmuth) Depew. On August 2, 1988 he married Polly Bender. They made their home in KS. He worked at Mennonite Friendship Retirement Community, first as a nurse aide and later in maintenance. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Partridge, KS. In 2004, he moved his family to Atmore, AL in order to minister under We Care Program as a prison chaplain. In 2016 he was ordained and became pastor at Way of Life Community Church in Mobile, AL. Then in June 2017 he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and sought treatment at Cancer Treatment Center of America, Newman, GA. The spring of 2018, he finally was able to fulfill his dream to move to Mobile. He loved ministering to people. He was also a loving husband and dad and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Katie Mae and sister, Faye.
Mr. Depew is survived by his bride of thirty-one years, Polly Bender Depew; sons, Chad Depew of Mobile and Kevin (Sarah) Depew of Atmore; daughter, Cassandra Depew of Mobile; grandchildren, Rori Fae and Dominick Ledger; father, Bill Depew and step-mother, Connie Busick-Depew of Hutchinson; brothers, Harlen Depew of Hutchinson and Dave Depew of Rogers, Ark.; brother-in-law, Richard Sallee of Liberty, Texas.
The family received friends Monday, February 17, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Way of Life Community Church, 1760 Riverside Drive, Mobile, Ala. with service following.
The family also received friends Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Grace Fellowship Church in Atmore, Ala. followed by service at 3:30 p.m. Interment followed in Freemanville Community Cemetery, Atmore.

Leonard E. McConnico
Mr. Leonard E. McConnico, age 77, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Friday, February 7, 2020. He was born to the late Alex and Hattie McConnico. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He was a loyal and faithful member of Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church. He was an employee of T.R. Miller Mill Company for thirty-five years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings but one and one son, Caleb D. McConnico.
Mr. McConnico is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Hattie of Brewton; one sister, Doris Jean McConnico of Brewton; loving children, Leonard E. McConnico, Jr, Felicia Barton, Christopher (Karen) L. McConnico, Daphne D. McConnico, Katrice L. McConnico Elliott, Tara U. (Jeremy) McConnico-Bradley, Carnita S. Washington, Ingram Harris, Virgil Harris and Randy Harris; step-daughter, Towana Pryor (Bill) Johnson and step-son, Darrell Pryor; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; devoted nieces, Minister Sylvia Diane Riley and Barbara (Purvis) Smith along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Second Saints Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Willie Blue Pastor officiating. Interment followed at Bergen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his nephews and grandsons.
Flower bearers were his nieces and granddaughter.

Shirley Dean Smith
Ms. Shirley Dean Smith, age 68, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020. She was born to Mildred Smith Allen and Jeff Anderson in Brewton. She attended Booker T. Washington High School. She relocated to Los Angeles and graduated from Jefferson High School. She was a member of Cross of /Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles. She loved to cook and take care of people.
She was preceded in death by her brother.
Ms. Smith is survived by five children, Doris Smith of Calif., Edward Smith of Fla., Marquis Smith, Tanesha Smith and Adrian Smith of Calif.; eight grandchildren, Kierra Floyd, Marteaina Smith, Aaron Hodges, Marquis Smith, Jr., Alexandria Smith, Marquishon Smith, Morgan Smith and Anthony Coppler and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Willie J. Blue Pastor officiating.
Pallbearers were Edward Smith, Reginald Smith, Carlos Montgomery, Tavaous Smith, Marquis Smith, Bryant Smith.
Flower bearers were family and friends.
