Special to Atmore News
The March for Life in Mobile will be Friday, January 24, the same day as the National March for Life in Washington DC. This year’s Alabama theme is “Standing for the 6000” (number of babies aborted last year in Alabama) with hope for 6,000 participants to gather at the rally in Cathedral Square at 9:45 a.m. (or ASAP after) to hear featured speakers.
The goal of 6,000 people to gather and March for Life will provide a visual impression of the number of 6,000 lives lost. Please prayerfully consider and plan now to participate.
The March is faith-based and not affiliated with the Archdiocese, but Mass will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception at 8:45 a.m.
Members of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Atmore will carpool to the March in Mobile. The church has a regularly scheduled pro-life committee meeting, St. Robert’s Saint Gianna Molla Society, the night before at Boland Hall to decide time(s) of departure.
At the March, participants will walk only if able and only as far as they are physically able. The group plans to eat lunch there (maybe each taking a sack lunch) before returning to Atmore.
For more information, call St. Robert’s Boland Hall (251-368-1801).
You’re invited to join together, recognizing love for the hurting and confused mothers and praying for them and the protection of the lives of their tiny babies. For those of like mind who cannot go, please begin now to pray for the impact and success of our efforts and that God, who loves us, will forgive our country’s lack of protection for the unborn tiny humans, the weakest among us.
