Taste of the South is Thursday; GECA, Ribs, Raffle comin’ up
News Staff Report
At Atmore News, there’s a sign in the window saying this office is the Atmore Ticket Master.
If you’re planning to attend one or more events in the area, you may want to check on your tickets here, kind of like a one-stop shop, at 128 S. Main Street.
Tickets are available for the following:
* Taste of the South, Thursday, Sept. 20, Heritage Park. For $10, you get 5 tastes of the best dishes area cooks have to offer. Prizes are awarded at the end of the evening, and the competition is fierce.
* GECA Arsenic and Old Lace, Sept. 27-30, at the theater on the corner of Trammell and Nashville. You’ll enjoy this comedy. Tickets are $7 for GECA members, $10 for non-members.
* American Legion Auxiliary Quilt of Valor. The drawing for this red, white, and blue queen-size quilt will be held at Williams Station Day. Funds raised will be used primarily to promote children and youth activities, such as sending junior members to summer camp, having Christmas with Santa for children of active duty military, and engaging special speakers. Chances are $5 each, or 3 for $10.
* Ribs on Ridgeley, Nov. 1, $40, Ridgeley Street. If you’ve been to Ribs on Ridgeley before, you know what a great time it is. Ribs is a project of Pride of Atmore, and proceeds go toward downtown revitalization.
