Nothing goes better with college football than fresh, hot boiled peanuts!
The Atmore Memorial VFW Auxiliary to Post 7016 always has veterans at heart. They’re always “cookin'” something up to raise money for veterans – and this time they’re cookin’ up some peanuts.
Join the local VFW Auxiliary at their annual Peanut Boil Saturday, September 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. Please note the new location – at Atmore Farmers Market next to city hall.
The cost for peanuts is only $2 for a cup, $5 for a quart and $15 for a gallon. All money raised will go to the Auxiliary’s general fund.
In addition to fundraising events and other activities, the VFW Auxiliary’s two biggest events of the year are the annual Veteran’s Day Breakfast and Vietnam Veterans Day Celebration. They host the annual Veteran’s Day Breakfast at the Anchor Café on Veteran’s Day; all veterans are invited to breakfast at no cost to them. They host the annual Vietnam Veterans Day Celebration on the last Saturday of March; all Vietnam era veterans, families, friends, and community members are invited to attend.
The Atmore Memorial VFW Auxiliary to Post 7016 was chartered in 2010. In 2015 the Auxiliary began accepting eligible males.
