Lula “Laura” Lee Grimes

Ms. Lula “Laura” Lee Grimes, age 93, of Atmore, Ala. passed away at her daughter’s home in Montgomery, Ala. She was a native of Camden, Ala. and a longtime resident of Atmore. She attended school in Wilcox Co. and was a farmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, some of her children, and siblings.

Ms. Grimes is survived by five daughters, Martha Johnson of Calif., Ruth Ford of Montgomery, Ala., Della Cooper and Laura Ann Pettway, both of Atmore and Linda Pettway of Stockbridge, Ga.; three sons, Willie (Pearlie) Pettway and Tony (Stephanie) Pettway, both of Atlanta, Ga. and Jesse (Anne) Pettway of Mobile, Ala.; one sister, Lorine Pettway of Sylvia Springs, Ga.; one brother, Sandy Pettway of Camden, Ala.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Noon at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center- Atmore with Apostle Tony McAroy, officiating and Bishop Darryl North- Host Pastor. Interment followed in Stallworth Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday, June 8, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Her body did lie in repose at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service.

Stanford D’Wayne Gollotte

Mr. Stanford D’Wayne Gollotte, age 48, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at his home in Uriah, Ala. He was a native and former resident of Mobile, Ala. and has resided in Uriah for the past five years. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Albert and Vicie Lou Gregson, Eddie and Annie Gollotte and a number of aunts and uncles.

Mr. Gollotte is survived by his father, Stanford Gollotte of Mobile; mother, Margaret Gollotte of Uriah; three sons, Stetson Brockmiller and Dalton Gollotte, both of Mobile and Trent Gollotte of Uriah; two daughters, Dixie Gollotte of Mobile and Destiny Gollotte of Uriah; one brother, Brian Gollotte of Mobile; two sisters, Darlene Walker of Theodore, Ala. and Charlene Allen of Irvington, Ala. and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Gollotte, Keiden Gollotte, Donavon Gollotte, Matthew Gollotte, Stetson Brockmiller, Todd Walker, Tyler Walker and Thomas Sims.

Marrian Nadene Gibson

Mrs. Marrian Nadene Gibson, age 58, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Atmore, Ala.

She was a native of Bay Minette, Ala. and had resided in Poarch, Ala. for the past thirty years. She was a member of the Poarch Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Calvin Joiner; sister, Ann Davis and son, William Andrew Eddins.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by her mother, Patricia Mae Barlow of Bay Minette; two daughters, Pam Eddins of Dothan, Ala. and Terry Glover of Atmore; one brother, Ricky Calvin (Sarah) Joiner, Sr. of Rabun, Ala.; two sisters, Sharon (Rayford) Tuberville of Dyas, Ala. and Judy Boyette of Rabun; seven grandchildren, Drew, Christian, Little Robert, Destiny, Oscar, Brattany and Samantha and one great-grandchild, Princes Skye Eddins.

Lola Peebles

Mrs. Lola Peebles, age 88, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born in Berlin, Germany and has resided in Bratt, Fla. for most of her life. She was a member of the Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henry Peebles.

Mrs. Peebles is survived her two sons, Willie (Pat) Peebles of McDavid, Fla. and Robert Franz Peebles of Bratt; two daughters, Mary L. Peebles of Atmore, Ala. and Becky (Tony) Wheeler of Bratt; seven grandchildren, Kevin Peebles, Keith Peebles, Derick Peebles, Kathy Dickerson, Paula Short, Michael Stacey and Gene Wheeler; fifteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at noon at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Peebles and Rev. James Sage officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 11 a.m. until service time at noon at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Peebles, Keith Peebles, Derick Peebles, Gene Wheeler, Jeff Steadham and David Steadham.

Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Steadham.
