We Care anniversary
We Care Program held a 50th anniversary celebration Saturday, September 11. Hall of Fame Coach Sonny Smith, left, and Atmore’s Lou Vickery, right, held a book signing for their latest book, Winning the Head Game … Key to Elite Athletic Status Friday, September 10, at First National Bank & Trust. Profits from sale of the books are donated to the Sheriffs’ Girls Ranch in Tallapoosa County. Vickery is the author of 13 other books.
Gulf Winds donates to Legion
On Thursday, September 9, members of Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union Foundation donated $5,000 to Billy Glenn Rushing Post 90 to assist in raising monies for the Veterans and Community Garden initiative. With this contribution, Post 90 has raised $82,000 to support this initiative.
