Book signing
The Warehouse Market and Bakery is hosting a book signing for Kathryn Gossett, author of the devotional Challenging Encouragement, Saturday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. She will have a limited number of books for purchase at the signing. Kathryn and her husband Frank are former residents of Atmore and now live in Smiths Station, Ala. The Warehouse Market is located at 5080 Jack Springs Road, Atmore.
Food giveaway Thursday
Pensacola Caring Hearts Inc. sponsored its second food giveaway in Atmore Thursday, July 1. Distribution was scheduled to start at 10 a.m. at the Farmers Market, but started earlier since people were already lined up before 9 a.m. The event was billed as a “free food giveaway for families due to the global pandemic,” but anyone could take advantage of the offer. About 6,000 pounds of food were distributed.
Art crosswalks
Thanks to funds from ALProHealth, administered by the Escambia County Extension System, some Atmore crosswalks are getting a makeover. Landis Design Co. is working on the Trammell and Ridgeley street intersection, but have been delayed at times due to rain. As of now, this is the only intersection scheduled for art crosswalks.
