Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes collection set
This month, several locations in the multi-county Alabama Tri-County Area Team will serve as drop-off sites for the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child – joining nearly 5,000 U.S. locations collecting gift-filled shoeboxes for children in need around the world. Houston Avery Park will come alive with the squeals and laughter of children on Saturday, November 4, when Destiny Worship Center presents its 11th Annual Stomp the Yard event. Community Thanksgiving Service set
The Community Thanksgiving Service will be Sunday, November 19, at 6 p.m., at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Brennan Peacock, First United Methodist Church, will bring the message and there will be special music from several churches. Participating churches are Bethel United Methodist, First Baptist, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Greater Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist, McRae Street United Methodist, Grace Fellowship, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist.

Haunted House 2017 The YMCA and Greater Escambia Council for the Arts are sponsoring Haunted House 2017, Friday, Saturday, and Monday, October 27, 28, and 30.
