Eula Mae (Godwin) Lynn

Mrs. Eula Mae (Godwin) Lynn, age 80, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Walnut Hill, Fla. She was born in Perdido, Ala. She joyfully served school children lunch for over twenty years at Bratt Elementary School retiring as the beloved cafeteria manager. She was a faithful member of New Life Fellowship in Walnut Hill. She was also a glorious talent in the gospel singing group, Restoration. One of her favorite scriptures that hung on a wall in her house was Joshua 24:15: “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” The way she lived her life should be an example for all of us.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Calvin Ramer and mother, Leona Bryars Ramer; her first husband, Hilery Lamar Godwin; her son, Reginald Lamar Godwin; her second husband, Loyd Lowell Lynn of Burnet, Texas; siblings, Otis Ramer, Aubrey Ramer, Norman Ramer, Curtis Ramer and a sister Edith Marie Ramer.

Mrs. Lynn is survived by her siblings, Vertis Ramer of Bay Minette, Ala.; Robert (Doris) Ramer, Willie (Ola Mae) Ramer and Vernon (Sheila) Ramer, all of Perdido and Arthur (Sheila) Ramer of Atmore, Ala; two sons, Jefferey Keith Godwin and Hilery Lamont Godwin of Bratt, Fla.; two daughters, Rhonda Lynn (Tommy) Holifield of Atmore and Cathy Madonna (Christopher) Scott of Walnut Hill; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Hudson officiating. Burial followed in Godwin Cemetery in Bratt.

The family received friends Sunday, May 17, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Dorothy Beasley “Dot” Morgan

Mrs. Dorothy Beasley “Dot” Morgan, age 81, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at her home in Flomaton, Ala. She was a native and life-long resident of Flomaton. She was a retired secretary from Flomaton Elementary/Middle School with twenty-eight years of service and was a member of the Little Escambia Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Winfred Morgan; two sons, Darryl Morgan and Vince Morgan and parents, Ollie and Gladys Beasley.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Glenn) Fountain of Canoe, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Helen Morgan of Flomaton; sister, Shirley Beasley (Wallace) Diamond of Flomaton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday, May 18, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Little Escambia Cemetery with Dr. Larry Patterson and Bro. Jonathan Hill officiating.

The family received friends Monday, May 18, 2020 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Aaron Fountain, Nicholas Morgan, Michael Ledford, Kevin Douglas, Tyler Hutchcraft, Zach Holland and Ryan Long.

Beatrice Williams

Ms. Beatrice Williams, age 72, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020. She was born to the late Betty Lee Williams and Roger Grant. She was a 1964 graduate of Escambia County Training School and a longtime employee of Hauss Nursery. She was a member of Mt. Gillead Missionary Baptist Church in Freemanville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and aunt, Bernice Salter.

Ms. Williams is survived by two daughters, Wanda Riley and Cynthia Williams, both of Atmore; son, Shelton (Lisa) Williams of Jacksonville, N.C.; five brothers, Larry Grant, Roger Grant, Jr. and Kevin Grant, all of Pensacola, Fla., James Montgomery and Warnell Williams, both of Atmore; seven grandchildren, Lashanda (Shelton) Forney, Krystle Williams, Martesha (Calvin) Stallworth and Andre (Diedre) Riley, all of Atmore, Shelton Williams, Jr., of Chesapeake, Va., Terence (Etsuko) Williams of Misawa, Japan and Terrell Williams of Jacksonville; devoted aunt, Jesse Fisher of Nokomis, Ala.; devoted uncle, James Hall of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Pierce, Rabb & Montgomery Cemetery with Pastor Peggy Jones, Eulogist. Interment followed the service.

Pallbearers and floral attendants were family and friends.

Patricia Ann Wiggins

Mrs. Patricia Ann Wiggins, age 61, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020. She was born in Atmore to John Leslie and Selma Brown-Scott. She was a faithful servant at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Leslie; grandparents, Andrew and Elizabeth Leslie, Gertrude Brown and a special aunt, Lila Mae Leslie.

Mrs. Wiggins is survived by her husband of twenty-eight years, Minister Claude Wiggins; children, Tyrone (Laconstance) Wiggins and Shagermany Wiggins, all of Atmore; grandchildren, Kamariana Wiggins, Derean Dixon, Tydestin7 Wiggins and Tykandrian Wiggins, all of Atmore; mothers, Selma Brown Scott and Brenda Leslie; sisters and brothers, Judy (Larry) Jackson, Dorothy (David) Albert, Voncille Hall, Lillie Bell Hall, Tachaka (Raymond) Robinson, Latasha Johnson, Alvin Bowens and Angela Leslie, all of Atmore, Juanita (Richard) Lyons of Minn., John Leslie, Jr. and Benard (Pat) Lewis, all of N.Y., Kelvin Leslie of Colo., Claude (Mindy) Brown and Andrew Leslie, all of Fort Dodge, Iowa; nine brothers-in-law and eight sisters-in-law; two God-children, Elisha Banks and Aniyah (Tootie) Brown; one special aunt, Mable King; two special friends, Rosland Rostchild an Jammie Banks along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with F. D. Banks, Pastor of Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church. Interment followed the service.

Alma Boggan

Alma Boggan, age 90, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 at her home.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Stallworth Cemetery with Rev. Monroe Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Stallworth Cemetery.

Charlie James Boggan

Charlie James Boggan, age 67, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at his home.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Stallworth Cemetery with Rev. Monroe Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Grady J. Slay 

Mr. Grady J. Slay, age 85, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 in Mobile, Ala. He was a native of Stockton, Ala., former resident of Lottie, Ala. and had resided in Atmore, Ala. for the past thirty years. He was a helper at the Atmore Senior Center. He retired as a maintenance worker with the Atmore Community Hospital; retired Tech. Sgt with the U.S. Air Force with twenty years of service and a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of Robinsonville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Mattie Slay.
Mr. Slay is survived by his wife of thirty years, Mary Kathy Slay of Canoe, Ala.; three step-children, Robert J. (Shelley) Odom, Jr. and Michelle Aaron, all of Pensacola, Fla. and Deborah (Brock) Houghton of Hampstead, N.C.; one sister, Geneva (Willie) Wearren of Atmore; niece, Jammie (Wayne) Hickerson of Gulf Shores, Ala.; step-grandchildren, Jessica Odom, Kayla Odom, Brianna Aaron, all of Pensacola, Blake Houghton and Brody Houghton both of Hampstead and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Phil Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 22, 2020 from 9 until 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Gary Singleton, Willie Wearren, Fred Aaron, Bobby Lanier, Earl Bodiford and Doug Purvis.
