Special to Atmore News

The Atmore Lions Club held their major fund raiser of the year on Thursday, March 12, when they sponsored the annual Atmore Lions Club Golf Tournament. Eight teams competed at the Atmore Country Club for prizes and bragging rights.
For the first time in memory, there was a tie for first place between Baldwin Pest Control and PHD Realty, both sporting a score of 57. Right behind, with a score of 58, was First National Bank and Trust. The winning teams generously donated their cash prize back to the Lions Club for use in their many projects promoting and supporting eyesight, diabetes, and childhood cancer.
In addition to the three prize-winning teams, others participating were Creek Indian Enterprises, Diamond Oil, United Bank, Walmart, and Brown Precision.
At the conclusion of the tournament, participants were invited inside the clubhouse for a fried fish dinner, drawings for door prizes, and distribution of goodie bags.
Approximately 36 golfers participated.
