The board and staff with the Women’s Resource Center (formerly Sav-A-Life) in Atmore hosted a luncheon at David’s Catfish for area pastors Wednesday, November 6.
The purpose of the lunch was two-fold – to show the pastors the organization’s appreciation for their support and to provide information on the Center’s work.
“Without your prayers and support, we wouldn’t be able to continue,” Center executive director Linda Smith told the group. “We’ve been reaching out to the community for 30 years … Thank you for all you do in supporting us.”
Guest speaker was Triesa Lee, founder and director of Choose Life, Inc., who shared her own experiences with abortion and her life’s transformation that gave her a testimony to share in talking with women about abortion.
“There’s never a greater joy than to see girls choose to give birth to their babies,” Lee said.
The Women’s Resource Center does not dispense contraceptives or abortion pills, nor perform or refer for abortions. They do provide a range of services offering care, counsel and resources to anyone facing a pregnancy.
Women’s Resource Center volunteers and staff attending were volunteers Linda Bumann and Phyllis Brown; nurse manager Sandy Classen; client services manager Teresa Nichols; board members Pastor Cornelius Phillips, Earl and Mandy Cooper; executive director Linda Smith.
