Elma Morine Kelly

Mrs. Elma Morine Kelly, age 89, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Clermont, Fla. She was a native of Atmore, Ala. and had resided in Clermont for most of her life. She attended the First Baptist Church in Minneola, Fla. and the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Mexia, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Molly Caraway; two husbands, Lamar Edward Etheridge and Foy William Kelly; daughter, Ruthie Kelly; three brothers, William Caraway, J.B. Caraway and Winkle Caraway; three sisters, Lula Mae Wilson, Florence Green and Sarah Skelton; a step-son, Hubert Kelly.

Mrs. Kelly is survived by her two sons, Gaines Edward (Debbie Youngblood) Etheridge of Tensaw, Ala. and Vestus William (Linda Portwood) Kelly of Foley, Ala.; three daughters, Linda (Charles) Austin of Clermont, Fla., Martha Wooten of Atmore and Carolyn Caples (David Kennie) of Minneola; one step-daughter, Linda Powell of Texas; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Jarrells officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Level Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Glenn Edward “Eddie” Jerkins, Jr.

Mr. Eddie Jerkins, age 56, of Pine Hill Drive, Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 in a Florence, Ala. medical facility after a brief illness. He was a native and lifetime resident of Atmore. He loved sending cards and never missed a birthday or holiday. He loved 70’s music especially The Bread album and loved watching the Golden Girls.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Matilda Diane “Tilda” Jerkins; maternal grandparents, Grady H. Forte and Lula Moye Forte of Robinsonville, Ala.; paternal grandparents, Howard and Bessie Findley Jerkins; step-father, H. R. McKissack and cherished family friend, Eugene “Bud” McDonald.

Mr. Jerkins is survived by his mother, Jeanelle Forte McKissack of Atmore; father, Glenn E. Jerkins, Sr. (Evelyn) of Orange Beach, Ala.; one sister, Theresa Suttle (Ted) of Fairhope, Ala.; two nieces, Sarah Suttle Wilson (Tyler) of Fayetteville, Ark. and Rebecca Suttle Sicard (Joe) of Orange Beach, Ala.; two step-sisters, Julie Cole of Foley, Ala. and Chris Harris of Gulf Shores, Ala. and other loving relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 16, 2019 at 2 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery, Atmore with Rev. Patrick Madden officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Autry Clyde Conway 

Mr. Autry Clyde Conway, age 82, of Bay Minette, Ala. passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 in Mobile, Ala. He was born in Mobile to the late Clyde L. and Evelyn Buck Conway. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard. He was a retired machinist from Kaiser Aluminum and an avid Alabama fan. He was a member of the Bay Minette Lodge #498 F&AM and served with the Bay Minette Police Department Auxiliary. He was a devout Christian, a member and deacon of Southside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pam Conway; two brothers, Johnny and Lonnie Conway.

Mr. Conway is survived by his wife, Patricia Arrington Conway of Bay Minette; three sons, Tony (Susan) Conway and Ben Conway, all of Bay Minette and Joseph (Gina) Conway of Richland, Miss., one daughter, Wendy (Bob) Davis of Bay Minette; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Bay Minette, AL. with Dr. Larry Patterson and Bro. Jason Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Josh Conway, Brandon Conway, Matt Conway, Caleb Conway, James Conway and Brian White.

Honorary pallbearer will be John Rouse.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 19, 2019 from 5 until 8 p.m. from Southside Baptist Church.

John Lockhart Holleman

Mr. John Lockhart Holleman, age 83, of Atmore, Ala., passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2019 after a short illness and fall. He was born to John Holleman Sr. and Ena Ruth Holleman in Lafayette, Ga.  He lived in various cities and towns across the Southeast including four years in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He worked in various roles in the textile and carpet industry, including taking a Plant Manager role in Canada where he took his family for four years. He later in life ran a convenience store in Atmore, and eventually built his own Texaco Truck stop on I65.  John loved his Scottish Terriers who were always close by when he was at his home in Atmore.

Mr. Holleman is survived by his three children; sons, Douglas (Cyndi) Holleman and Bryan Holleman and daughter, Mary Jane Farmer; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Hospice Foundation, 655 Brawley School Rd, Suite 200, Mooresville, NC 28117.

Emma Joan Fillingim

Mrs. Emma Joan Fillingim, age 87, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 in Atmore. She was retired from West Florida Hospital Medical Records. She was born in Waukegan, Ill. to the late Jesse L. and Alberta Rohrkaste Bealor, Sr. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Atmore.

Mrs. Fillingim is survived by her husband, Raeburn Fillingim of Atmore; a son, Walter Lamar (Charlotte D.) Fillingim of New Braunfels, Texas; a daughter, Karen Joan “Kitty” (Randy) Day of Atmore, a brother, Jesse L. Bealor, Jr of Leanhaven, Fla.; grandchildren, Stacey Fillingim, Whitney (Andy) Antley, Jarrod (Crystal) Day; great-grandchildren, Anders Antley, Scarlett Antley, and Sawyer Antley.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. from Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla. with Rev. Andy Gartman and Rev. Brennan Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Bayview

Clifford Earl Montgomery

Mr. Clifford Earl Montgomery, age 56, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019. He was born to the late Frank and Emma Mae Montgomery. He was a long time resident of Freemanville, Ala. He had a life companion in Ms. Aldear Gray and they shared one daughter, Emma Jo Montbomery.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jake Wilson and Carlos Montgomery; sisters, Vernell Montgomery, Jettie Mae Thames and Joyce Jackson.

Mr. Montgomery is survived by his sisters, Velma Moorer, Paulette Askew, Rosaline Moore, all of Atmore, Shelia (John) Williams of Mobile, Ala., Merenda (Toby) Gordon of Plainsville, N.J.; brothers, Otis Wilson of Radcliff, Ky. and Michael Montgomery of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; aunts, Alee Power of Atmore, Emma (George) Storay of Little Rock, Ark., Bonnia Gane of Flint, Mich., Mary Alice Tate of Sacramento, Calif., Annie Mae Washington of Mobile, Ala. and Rosie Tate of Bronx, N.Y.; uncles, Artis (Mertees) Tate of Roanoke, S.C., Will George (Ethel) Tate, Jack (Bobbie) Tate and Robert (Bonnie) Tate of Mobile and sister-in-law, Liza Wilson of Atmore; nieces and nephews; friends, Marlon Fisher, Johnny Shell, Jerry Rothschild, Gabret Jackson, Alphonzo Hudson, the Freemanville Community and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at noon at Gods Temple of Deliverance Holiness Church with Bishop W.C. Howard, pastor and Elder John Williams, officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery

Pallbearers were his nephews.

Flower bearers were his nieces.
