Bryan wins PCI Tribal Council seat

Three seats were up for election in the latest Poarch Creek Indian Tribal Council election. Incumbent Charlotte Meckel held her seat as secretary. Incumbent Dewitt C. Carter won his at-large seat.
Incumbent Sandy Hollinger was in a run-off for her position as council treasurer.
The run-off was held Saturday, August 3, with challenger Amy Bryan defeating Hollinger 642 to 558.
Hollinger has served on the council since June 2011.
Tribal members may vote in three ways – walk-in before the election, absentee, and votes cast the day of the election.
Bryan had 380 walk-in votes to Hollinger’s 341. Absentee votes were 154 for Bryan and 145 for Hollinger. Votes cast the day of the run-off were 108 for Bryan and 72 for Hollinger.
