Lancaster

Do you have a young lady in your family, in second through sixth grades, who might be interested in performing on stage, maybe with aspirations of one day being in the Distinguished Young Women program?
She may want to take advantage of the Be Your Best Self BOOTCAMP! The camp will be held Thursday, July 25, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., in the Escambia Academy auditorium.
Mary Thompson Lancaster, the 2019 DYW of Escambia County, will teach a choreographed routine to be performed on stage at the DYW Program, Saturday, July 27, 6:30 p.m., on the Coastal Alabama Community College Brewton campus.
Activities at the bootcamp include making posters for the DYW dressing room to encourage the participants; learning the five aspects of being her best self – healthy, ambitious, involved, responsible, studious; and discussing how they can incorporate these qualities into their own lives.
The $40 fee includes a Be Your Best Self Bootcamp t-shirt, a snack, supplies for the activity, and one ticket to the DYW Program. The $40 fee is due by Monday, July 15 and can be mailed to DYW of Escambia County at P.O. Box 393, Atmore, AL 36504, or Venmo at “Suzanne Barnett.”
To sign up, message the DYW Facebook page or text 251-359-0973, and make sure to include your child’s t-shirt size (youth small, med, large). Deadline to register is Friday, July 12.
Please note: The girls will need to attend the dress rehearsal of the program the night of July 26 to practice the dance on stage at CACC in Brewton.
