Students and faculty at Rachel Patterson Elementary School have been participating in a year-long project – Pandas for Pets. The project grew from the school’s being selected as a Bicentennial School.
The students worked very hard this year making and selling dog treats to earn money for the shelter and bringing in donations for the animals in their care. This is due to parents and community members who supported the school’s fundraisers.
Recently, several students and Principal John Brantley donated various supplies and a check in the amount of $2,500 to Atmore / PCI Animal Shelter to shelter director Brandon James and Chad Willis with the shelter.
Pets are available for adoption Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Atmore / PCI Animal Shelter located off Highway 31 behind the National Guard Armory at 206 Cindebran Drive in Atmore.
