National Day of Prayer is May 2

Atmore’s observance of the National Day of Prayer will be held Thursday, May 2.
This year’s theme is “Love one another. Just as I have loved you.” (John 13:34).
The day will begin at 10 a.m. with prayer at the Veterans Memorial and city hall.
The community prayer service and scripture reading will take place at 5:30 p.m., in the Escambia County High School Cornell Torrence Gym. Scripture reading will be assigned prior to the event through area churches. If you have not been assigned a Scripture, passages will be available at the event.
The children’s prayer service will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., with Miss Flippy Toe in the RPM Trailer located outside the gym. This is for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
